I had been having problems running some games where they were accessing cartridge data that shouldn't exist, sometimes writing to the cart. I finally found the ones that are 384k in size and had a weird layout (256k, then the full 384k).
Are there any others I should know about?
I've seen a few games trying to write to rom. Even a SuperCD game (trying to write to bios rom). Probably just left over dev unit stuff that does no harm when not connected. It'd be nice if you could document which games you've found that do this.
Yeah, the 384k games have weird rom addressing layout.
I eventually found the information I needed on this site:
http://pcedev.wordpress.com/downloads-and-links/
Specifically the 'PCE cribsheet page 2 (ver 1.0.4)', this part in particular:
I'm guessing the weird layout is because some HuCards have 2 black blobs instead of one suggesting two mask roms. Atleast that would be my guess.
That's my site and my cribsheet ;>_>
I forget I had that in the cribsheet. My memory is getting crappy as I get older
Nice work. :) I've read through the blog. There's a lot of interesting stuff on there. The NES games in particular....
Also, my (unreleased) emulator supports your extended SF2 mapper (untested). Have you released anything for it yet?
