Hi, i am quit new to making reproductions.
I have made a few repros for myself and they work great.
But i have problems making a repro of Castlevania Chorus of Mysteries.
I made two repro of this. The first is using the repropak from retrousb. The second is using a donor board.
Both have the same glitch.
The game is working but the statusbar at the the top of the screen is scrolling if i am working to left or right.
I am going to make a video of the problem and post it here.
Has anyone suggestions for me?
H/V mirroring set wrong ?
What mapper that hack uses ?
I have tried both mirrorings. That had no effect on the glitch..
It 's an unrom board.
You sure if it's made for PAL or NTSC NES/FAMI and you're using the matching video norm system ?
That kind of problem sure sounds like timing issues.
I'm using a pal nes.
By the way here is the video of the glitch.

A NTSC NES should solve your problem.
It's related to the pal nes.
Playing the rom on an emulator set to pal reproduces the error.
Is there anything i can do about that without changing to a ntsc nes?
You could see if the hack works on the PAL version of Castlevania, or try to hack the game to support the sprite split on PAL. I noticed the Sprite Split on the NTSC version strangely doesn't work on PAL systems but the PAL version's split works on both NTSC and PAL, atleast through a brief test using FCEUX.
You could also have run this on an emulator and tried NTSC and PAL regions and seen whether it had the same problem in only one region, which would show that you need the other region of NES to play it.
It seems not related to the hack.
The original game shows the same behavior playing the ntsc version on a pal nes/pal emulator.
Unfortunately the ips file for Chorus doesn't seems to work with the pal rom of castlevania.
