hey, I'm trying to fool around with the debug utility provided by the fceux nes emulator. Although, what I'm hoping to get to try is the breakpoint. I can create one, but the emulator won't stop to that point. Am I suppose to have a condition filled out? If so, what am I suppose to fill in? (examples would be great!)
btw, new here!
Make sure the address is correct. For instance, don't try to use .NES file offsets as an address. If you can't get anything working, try adding or subtracting 0x4000 from the address.
It's usually pretty simple, you just write the address or an address range (if it's a range, write the first and the last addresses, if it's a single address leave the second box blank) and select which operations will cause a break: reading, writing or executing that address. This is it, there is no trick.
Like Dwedit said, all addresses must be inside the addressing space of the 6502, that is, between $0000 and $FFFF (remember that programs that use PRG bankswitching will map different parts of the ROM to $8000-$FFFF). Addresses are always in hex, and you don't need to write the "$".
