I wrote a new wiki article.
http://wiki.nesdev.com/w/index.php/TAS
As some people here might know, I'm a person who has had a part in introducing and promoting the TAS phenomenon in the world. Though I have officially stepped to the background from the scene, I still felt it natural to use TASes extensively for both testing and showcasing when I created an emulator of my own.
In retrospect, I still can say it was quite rewarding, and I can recommend the practice.
This page explains what a TAS is, what to use them for, and how to use them in an emulator. In this thread I and others can provide consultation on TASes from emulator development perspective.
