Recently I've been trying to patch Pinball(VS) to use the regular NES-palette.. However, there's some odd stuff going on with the VS-roms (or if it's the emulators...).
When I alter the ROM by changing a byte, the ROM boots into some "free play" mode.
Try changing at $e000 for example (filled with $ff, seems like empty space).
I've tried setting breakpoints (if the game does some CRC/checksum stuff) but it never breaks.
I experienced something similar with Excitebike(VS). Altering the ROM made the game ignore any inserted coins.
Anyone knows what's going on?
