I'm trying to gauge interest in reviving one of my past NES projects that I consider finished. This is a straw (non-binding) poll about what you would like to see, configured for approval voting (pick as many as you want).
RHDE: Families
Currently each player can play as one of three races: dwarfs, cripples, or furries. But they're all males, and the difference is purely cosmetic. One player has suggested adding a female choice and giving each choice an ability. This would mean switching from races to families.
RHDE: Single-player tutorial mission
A lot of players have ended up confused as to how to start playing this game. I may make a single mission about burglarizing an unattended house across the street.
Thwaite: Character portraits
Concentration Room: Revised character portraits
RPGs in the 16-bit era and beyond were likely to include portraits of a character along with the character's dialogue. These were left out or left small in my early games because of self-imposed ROM size limits aimed at inclusion on multicarts.
Concentration Room: Log-structured file system and emblem editor
One feature cut from Concentration Room was a large set of predefined emblems along with an editor to make more. I had originally planned a freeware "lite" version (what you see today as CRoom 0.02) and a "deluxe" version that would be sold on cartridge. I got as far as implementing the emblem editor that saves to battery RAM, until I was told that battery RAM was expensive, and saving to the game's flash was the new hotness. But an emblem's data is about 96 bytes, which is much smaller than what one can erase on a flash chip. So I'll need to implement a 6502 library to manage a log-structured file system across four to sixteen 4K erase pages of an SST39SF040, so that a game can save with cheaper non-battery WRAM or with no WRAM at all.
LJ65: Expansion pack with all new shapes
LJ65 was voluntarily withdrawn once it was determined that the choice of the set of one-sided tetrominoes was creative enough to qualify for a copyright. This would replace it with the sets of trikings and RHDE wall pieces (tetrominoes and pentominoes that fit in 3x3 square and lack O as a subset). An Uncyclopedia member drew box art for "Tetris expansion pack with all new shapes".
Port something to Super NES
An experiment to get a game building on both platforms would first require minor retooling of graphics code and major retooling of sound code to use the S-DSP instead of the 2A03 APU. Then it could be followed by a facelift to 4bpp multi-layer or hi-res graphics.
