Just wondering if anybody here has ever used the Windows 10 store for any reason?
I used it on Windows 8 to download a small number of free applications, e.g. the Netflix client.
I never even noticed it existed.
I believe it's also how you update apps that don't have auto-update features.
And I think I used it to download Microsoft Movie Maker.
And, I'm sure Microsoft phone users use it.
Once upon a time I owned a Windows phone, and bought a game on it. Being a "universal app", I decided to install it on my desktop. It was a nightmare. Windows store was terribly organized, painfully unintuitive, and horribly buggy--once the game was installed, every time I tried to update it (you would think this would happen automatically?) windows store would crash. For something that should be a front-and-center part of their consumer software, it's a stunning failure.
