On christmas I Think in 1985 Games such as gyromite and urban champion where packaged with these because they found it was cheaper then big boards shoved in NES carts. You just have to unscrew the game.It isn't easy though, you sometimes need a 8 bit bolt or something like that to open the carts i luckily did not need a bit i used a flat head screw driver.
Wouldn't it be more like '85, not '89 (I'm hoping that was a typo)? People can suspect but I don't think anyone really knows why Nintendo did it.
sorry it was a typo i'm going to have to edit it.
Yeah, isn't that weird? I was looking online for a converter, and I couldn't find one, and I was wondering "Why don't they sell converters?". Then, I found a page that said you can find converters in older games like Gyromite and Stack Up. I bought a Gyromite cart off of ebay, and that didn't have one. I was mad. Then I bought Stack Up, and that did have one, and I was happy. Though it sucks, because you have to remove the things on the sides if you want to be able to just stick a famicart on it. Otherwise it won't fit on. I think I heard that all Stack Up carts have a converter inside of them.
Did you throw that pointless gyromite out after you found it had no converter in it or did you just reasemble it again?Me I was so annoyed when I brought it The first day it came out that I Just sold it at a garadge sale.I hate that game so much I sold the game with the box and manual.
gyromite > *
... its kinda like Hydlide... people dont really know how to play it
The Gyromite I bought had no converter on it, but it turned out to be a great NROM devcart.
you mean you overwrote the game?
I took the ROMs out and put sockets in their place... so that I can put in chips with other NROM games or programs I or other people into nesdev have made.

That is sure the best use of bad game I can think of. I thank Koei a lot for all their bad games using a MMC5 chip, they can be used for great devcards. Destroying (or overwriting if you prefer) good games is such a pain...
You are right... turning bad games into devcarts is a guiltless thing. I usually feel bad when destroying a good game.
i don't overwrite any NEs game, I just keep them or sell them or whatever.
