What was the first NES/Famicom game to simultaneously scroll horizontally and vertically?
I know that depending on how you define "Scrolling horizontally and vertically", you get different answers. Devil World seems to be the first game to scroll in both directions, but that game used horizontal mirroring and did not change the columns of tiles.
So let's exclude games which just use horizontal mirroring and don't update columns.
Looks like the answer then is probably Championship Lode Runner, since that game scrolls in all 4 directions (uses vertical mirroring).
But if we want to include support for diagonal movement, which game is considered to come first? Right now I think it's probably Legend of Kage.
