When you open it once it creates a "nestopia.xml" to save its settings but the next time I go to open it, it crashes as soon as it starts unless I erase the nestopia.xml. I opened it up in a text editor and its not corrupted, its the damedist thing.
Whats up with that?
Delete the xml file, run the emulator, exit the emulator, run the emulator (which should crash). Then paste the contents of nestopia.log here.
Also, is this on Windows or Linux or OS X or...?
Finally, I'd recommend getting in contact with Martin Freij (Nestopia author) and report the bug. He doesn't tend to appear on forums.
martin-freij@home.se.
Well, windows installed some updates wile I was sleeping and now its not happening. It was xp sp3, I have recently reinstalled windows
now its doing it again but if I erace the setting and let it create new ones it dose not, I don't see any errors in the log outher than but being any to use v-sync for some reason. For whatever reason I did not think to save to config file that was doing it.

The log imply that you could be using version 1.39 unless there is an error in it. Maybe you should try to update to 1.40 since it could be a known issue fixed in the latest one.
Yeah the newer versions doing the same thing, that why I downloaded the older version, hopeing this could be corrected.
Edit: Idk what was up but I have not had any trobules with it since so I guess its ok.
Is the nestopia discontinued?
