Hey all,
I picked up the INL Dumper/Programmer and have been able to make backups of most of my games,
but I'm having some trouble with a few.
AOROM titles like Battletaods, Wizards & Warriors, Commando, and Captain Skyhawk: I don't see an AOROM option in the ANAGO_WX app.
MMC2 Punch Out: Again, I don't see an MMC2 option.
Some of the Capcom Games (Mega Man 2 and Strider in particular) seem very finicky, even after cleaning the carts.
Any tips?
Thanks in advance!
Does it have a dumping plugin for BNROM or Color Dreams? If so try using those, as they have the same PRG bank behavior as AMROM.

This list of scripts includes: cnrom, fj2, mmc1skrom, mmc1surom, mmc3, mmc5, taitox1, unrom, and vrc 1-7.
The tutorial I looked at had anrom in a screenshot, but it doesn't seem to be in the list of scripts, and I don't know if it would work for aorom if it was anyway.
Still scrounging through the web trying to find aorom and mmc2 scripts. Most of the kazoo sites are not in English though, so it's pretty slow going.
The search continues.
If fj2 is intended for MMC4 (FxROM), you should be able to use it to dump MMC2 games by post-processing the dump, removing duplicate copies of the $A000-$BFFF bank.

Is that something I can do in a hex editor?

What version of unagi/anago are you using? With unagi_client_windows_062 there are more option then you have listed, MMC2 is there but no aorom. Can't really advise you much, only used the CLI for MMC1 WRAM dumping.

I tried to make a MMC2 dumping script awhile back, but I think I ran into some weird issues that kept it from working. I made an AxROM script, but I think it needs to be ran with the commandline version vice gui.
I have them in the .zip available on my site, file path: kazzo\kazzo original\unagi_client_windows_062_GUI\anago
First off...
Thanks for all the help everyone.
I tried the newer version GUI and was able to get an image of Punch Out that Nestopia gave the thumbs up.
Tried using the command line to dump an AOROM game (Battletoads in this case) but the resulting images would not run in Nestopia and seemed to be half the size I was expecting (128k, I was expecting 256k?).
Hmm.. looks like my anrom.ad was hardcoded to 128KB..
Give this one a try:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/183 ... o/anrom.adI'll update it in the download if you're able to confirm it's working.

Tried it:
AN ERROR HAS OCCURED [script logical error]
CALLSTACK
*FUNCTION [dump()] dumpcore.nut line [19]
LOCALS
[vram] 0
[increase_ppu] 1
[increase_cpu] 1
[mappernum] 7

Just tried "d2" in the dump part of the line instead of "d", and it seemed to work.
It loaded up in Nestopia and the the image info screen says the dump is "OK".
I'm going to test a few more.

Good to hear; Just about to post a reply about that pram
Also in my folder I have two anrom scripts, anrom.ad and anrom_.ad. The latter is almost identical to the unrom script. This leads me to believe that it may also work with the d2 switch.

Ok.
Nestopia agreed with images of Captain Skyhawk and Wizards & Warriors made with that method.
I think those, and Battletoads, are the only aorom cartridges I have.
I just tried a dump of Pinbot using mmc3 since I didn't see a tqrom script, and Nestopia loads it up and runs it, though it tags the image as "unknown".
Thanks for all the help!
Dumping TQROM is the same process as dumping ordinary MMC3 games. It just requires extra information to emulate correctly.... and maybe trimming off the CHR banks that corresponded to the RAM afterwards, if it doesn't detect them.
I can't seem to figure this out! The Battletoad mapper. What is it? And how?
The Battletoads mapper is AOROM. Its PRG side behaves the same as BNROM (Deadly Towers; Haunted: Halloween '85).

Right, but there's no BNROM script. I tried to dump Battletoads without success.
How did
_bnrom512.ad fail?

I tried the script you linked. It dumped Battletoads, just changed the mapper to 7.
Thank you.

Sorry for sounding dumb, but I have very limited understanding of this stuff. What does it mean to change the mapper to 7 exactly? Did you change the script?
If you know Anago, there's an option to change the mapper number. Otherwise... go try the program+dumper.

Thanks for making it clear
