I just purchased a logic analyzer from ebay. Assuming it actually is functional when it gets here I was planning on doing some experimenting with the NES PPU. I have a desoldering gun (though I've never used it) so I was planning on removing the PPU from an old toaster I have laying around, and setting up a PIC to drive the inputs of the PPU. Are there any tests in particular people would like to see done? I know some of the tricky aspects of the PPU can't be measured externally, which is why they are tricky, but if there is anything that can be measured by the external signals, I think I'm all set to do such experiments.
I guess I could do some MMC hacking as well, but I don't have a very robust set of games in my collection - mostly the vanilla MMC's.
