Welcome to the new NA running list of NES prototype owners thread. If you own an NES prototype and want to brag a little, here is the place. If you want your name on the list post some photos including one of the PCB. I am requiring this because so many NES prototypes look like a retail shell with a label ripped off. If there is a reason this can't be done, shoot me a PM. I am sure we can figure something out. Please tell us if your  prototypes is PAL. I will assume that you prototype NTSC unless you say otherwise. For those that are interested, you can find old thread here.

Does Famicom count for this thread?

This was given to me as a thrown in free item with another purchase of various prototypes.  I assume this is a NES proto, but I guess there's a chance this could be fore the Arcade game.





Subsequently, anyone who could assist in dumping these (hey, I'm not asking for other dumped roms!) I'd appreciate it.  PM me.

You can add me for Earth Bound (probably don't need pictures of that one). Here is a Star Trek TNG prototype I own as well:

Until you dump them and figure out what is on them, I will leave it off the list. Sadly I don't own an EPROM programmer / dumper. Otherwise I would love to help you dump them.

I happen to have the Earthbound photos handy. Thanks for posting. I still can't believe you opened that Earthbound. It is such a sweet prototype. I got you added.  Be sure to double check my work.

People:

If you're going to open your prototype game cartridge, please be ready to cover any open UV erasure windows ASAP and make sure there is no sunlight around you.

I have several about 12 or 13 maybe, some famicom, some nes , even a.sega. but some I can't open, and I am not overly keen on taking pics either.

I think there is only one prototype in the whole thread so far that has exposed EPROM windows. While EPROMs are sensitive to light, especially UV light, they are not as unstable as you seem to think. Having the board out of the shell for a minute to snap a quick photo is going to be fine.
 

It is cool that you have so many prototypes. This thread is, for the time, only NES. If there are specific concerns that you have, you are welcome to  shoot me a PM.
 

Stray UV photons won’t wipe the chip, but they can certainly flip bits and introduce corruption. It’s unlikely that a random flipped bit will have an immediately noticeable effect.

I sent you photos of my protos a while back for your photo collection, do you need me to repost them? Tengen Tetris, conquest of the crystal palace(its titled Lord of demon paradise on cart and in game), Wurm, and Play action football.

If you don't mind reposting them, that would be great. I just moved, and can't find the cords to my main computer.
