Problematic AVS Games?

Does anyone know if there are certain NES games that are problematic or just don't play on the AVS? For example, I am having difficulty getting Fester's Quest and P.O.W. to play, while they boot right away in a toaster system. I tried to find other threads relating to this, but didn't come up with anything.

It's quite strange-the AVS boots up, but all of the splash screen icons are just gray and don't work on these two games.

Yeah, my green strip Tetris exhibited the same behavior.

Try inserting by pushing the left corner of the cart first.

In the third level of Contra I noticed the audio fades in and out and some inputs were dropped. I tried it with my cart and the powerpak. It happens both times. I also noticed some graphical glitches around the main character in Time Lord today, but I haven't had a chance to test it on my NES yet.

Great point-I will have to check. Thank you. If that is the case, I don't see a potential fix for this.

Bunnyboy said he'll issue a replacement pin connector that will solve it later on.

In the meantime, if you have a Game Genie, that will work in between.

Or insert the game left corner first, seems to work with Godzilla doing that.

What firmware are you running with the audio fading issues?

Also, has anyone yet confirmed Pokemon Yellow being fixed on 1.20b5/6? Wanting to purchase, but don't want to waste my money if it still needs more fixing.

Is there a way to reset the display settings on the AVS? You'd think this would be in the settings menu somewhere, but I can't seem to locate it.

Factory reset is plug controller into port two (second from leftmost) and hold up, select, start, a and b while resetting the AVS.

On the Everdrive, I can't get Mike Tysons Punch out or Batman - return of the Joker to play.

The only game I have had an issue with so far is the original NeSnake 2 that was purchased through Retrousb. It won't work at all. Just a huge graphical glitch.

I wonder why this needs to be so complicated...

It's so you don't accidentally do a factory reset during a game. You have to go out of your way to do it.

So no one accidentally does it while playing a game?

Or it could have just been a menu pick....?

In other news, inserting those two problematic games left side first actually works! Design flaw no doubt, but one of you guys is a wizard. Thanks!

For a full factory reset? No, I want it to be a complicated button combo. And it's not THAT hard, I've done it once myself.

I've found the same thing to work with my copy of Tetris. Figured it was bogus until it worked... first try.

Are there any audio issues with your copy of Tetris? Mine has a subtle static sound along with the regular audio.

Contra works perfectly on mine.

No audio issues with Tetris here. Xexyz is the only cart giving me trouble.
