Item: Master Chief Halo 2 life size statue

story: as some of you probably know, I am a huge Halo fan.  I search "Halo statue" multiple times a day, every day in hopes of finding this statue.  I've wanted it (bad) for a couple years, and this is probably the item I most wanted to add into my collection.  They pop up every now and then, but they are way too pricey.  Finally one was listed for a (very) fair price.  So this Master Chief statue popped up on ebay two weeks ago and I saw it shortly after it was posted.  I messaged the seller (located in New Hampshire, local pick-up only) and we ended up making a deal (quite a bit lower than the asking price, so that was cool).  I ended up heading to the East Coast this weekend to pick it up.  My girlfriend went with me and we ended up taking her Malibu instead of my dad's pick-up truck (which was smart in retrospect as the statue made it home, plus the truck sucks in the snow).  The entire last week (since we decided to take the Malibu) and the whole drive there I was worried about it fitting in the car (the Malibu has a large back seat and trunk, and I took measurements) but I knew it was going to be tight.  We get to the seller's house and ended up getting Master Chief into the back seat quite easily (the base and the statue are two pieces), and ended up getting the base in the trunk but basically had the trunk all the way open with tons of bungies holding everything in place (I have a picture or two of the transport that I will upload later once the girl sends me them).  We had to leave the back window open on the way home as Chief's foot was sticking out by a few inches, but we wrapped it in a bag, tarped it, and put cushion around the openings were the cold air was flowing in (which would have been quite annoying for an entire 13 hour drive hour).  Overall it ended up working nicely, and we had decent weather for the drive (hit heavy-ish snow on the way there in Michigan and Ohio, and then hit snow in the same two states on the way home).  We also spent the day in Salem and a Cape town close to it before we ended up driving to the statue's location (left Thursday night from Michigan, got to Mass. around 7pm Friday, got a (very cool) hotel right off the water for the night, woke up and moseyed around Salem, and then went to New Hampshire for the statue.  I always enjoy going to the East coast for all the amazing seafood.  We also ate some amazing pizza... mmmm East coast food.

TL;DR: finally got the Master Chief statue I've wanted for a long time.  Got to take a nice weekend excursion to the East coast to grab it.

Congrats! Very nice addition to the collection!

That quote on the bottom reminds me of the following video:

Funny how they got the Halo 5 part right.

Wilton.  We were going to go to Boston before Salem but I didn't want to deal with Friday night traffic in the city plus I was beat from the drive.

Congrats! So how heavy is that? By the way, being an East Coaster, I don't think our food is really all that great nor different than anywhere else... WITH the exception of the northernmost states -NH, VT, and Maine.

It is 120 lbs as a whole.  I'm guessing the base is close to 40-50, and the Chief being the majority of the weight.

I mean I love seafood, so getting seafood fresh from the ocean is about as good as it gets in my opinion, so I dig it.

Theres a local shop that has one of these. Without probing what you paid too much...what would you say is a fair range if I were to walk in off the street and make an offer on one of these?

I paid $950 (was listed for $1200), but with the expenses of traveling to get it, it ran me close to $1300 I would say.  I'd say $1000-1500 is a fair price for one, but being a huge Halo fan it was WELL worth it to me.  I bet there are some people out there that don't value it that high, though.

Congrats, man! I know a local game vendor with one in his shop but I'm sure it would take a lot to convince him to part with it. Very cool piece!

Here's one photo of the base in the trunk; I'm surprised I didn't get pulled over at all on the way home. As for the Chief in the back seat photo, I'm still waiting on the lady to send it to me.
