Update 3/30 Attaching the manual for download.

Update 3/27

Today is the day.

It's now available for purchase at Retrousb.com

http://www.retrousb.com/product_i...

In case you haven't heard a group of us have been working together to produce a homebrew version of the NWC.

so far we're referring to it as the HBWC, but the official title will be Homebrew World Championships 2012

UPDATE 7/27/12

Manual is being finished up, and then sent for production.
Case art for the Universal Media has been designed and sent off for production.
Label art is done.
Carts and labels have been ordered (2 to 3 week timeframe for production)
Universal Media cases are been cut to fit the NES games.
Poster is being designed. This was a last minute addition but will not delay production or assembly.

ETA for completion mid to late August.  Once everything is completed and assembled I will be auctioned off around 50 copies. Exact number not set yet.  This will not be a normal auction but more details to follow on the auction format.

Originally there was going to a be LE edition and a CIB edition, this has been scrapped and there will be only 1 version,  the NintendoAge version.  As all profit made on this game will be donated to NintendoAge.

Again thanks for everyone involved, the programmers, the artists, the beta testers, those who have contributed their time/effort/ or resources and well everyone who keeps asking about it.  Ohh and to stroke his ego, thanks to Mog for beating my high score, DAMN YOU MOG..

major differences with the NWC:

5 games on the HBWC instead of 3 like the NWC.

6 minutes and 15 seconds for the timer, as the NWC added 6 seconds to the time somehow.

Now you might be asking yourself, how or when will these be available?

Details on that are still being worked out, as the label, manual, and case insert are being worked on.

Case Insert you ask?  Basically there will be 3 versions released, all the same game with differences on the outside, however the game itself will remain the same.

3 versions include:
All profits from this will be donated to NintendoAge for operating costs.

Couple of older random screenshots (Thanks MRN)

Edit:  Wanted to use this post to thank everyone involved especially the programmers who have modified their games to work in the HBWC.

So

Roth
Mario's Right Nut
Zzap
Khan Games

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

also a big Thank you to Bunnyboy for all his hard work on this project.

To all the beta testers, THANK YOU

and one final thank you to Dain for giving me his approval on this.

You guys/gals all rock, thanks again

I made 42 of those! leaving only 2 for auction literally makes it impossible for me to get one (barring a lottery hit)

Only have enough Universal Media cases for 10 maybe 15 Limited Editions.

But over saturating the market with Limited Editions will drive down the bids on the Regular Release.

Looking forward to getting one of the normal CIBs.

This is cool and all, but here's what I want to know: Will we be able to play this before we have the tournament?

What I mean, is, I haven't had a chance to play all these homebrew games, so I'd like a chance to practice before I have to compete.

That's the idea, right, that we have a competition?

-------------------------

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at the Let's Play Gaming Expo last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Oh, my WTB thread is very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, Richard craniums - they all adore it. They think it's a righteous thread.
I'd also like to add that I've got my father's gun and a *scorching* price guide for aftermarket Nintendo games.
Between Dragon Warriors and nothing... I'll take Dragon Warriors - for any of my FT/FS/FO items.

There is no competition. This is just a competition cart that is being sold, at this time I have no plans for a competition, but it does sound like fun

Very cool, been waiting for this one a while now. Hopefully I will have deep enough pockets for a CIB release. I also think it would be a great idea to have a contest at some point. Give everyone a few weeks to play and get the game. We could have a NAHBWC.

Ohh neat idea.

Any contest would require a picture of the score screen with the nintendo and cart visable, as with the dip switches it would be easy for someone to say that got 3 million if they were using the max possible time.

I dunno, we'll work on a contest for this later.

I was thinking we would just get someone in a NA bus/van of sorts and drive from major city to major city and have NA members qualify live. JK of course but it would be simple enough to take photos like we do in the weekly contest and hopefully people would stay honest given there very well may not be a prize. Unless we make a gold cart for the winner .
