he wants 300. i said i was interested but i'm not paying anywhere close to $300. I also don't want the system, so i was going to make an offer on the games (even though i only want a few of them).  I was thinking of going $50.

You're wasting your time dealing with someone like that. Even if his $300 asking price is inflated, he's going to look at your $50 as a lowball slap in the face.

Besides, Paper Mario and Legacy of Darkness can sell for more than $50 by themselves.

he doesn't know what he has (in those couple of games), but he thinks he has a goldmine with this. i asked why the price was so high and he said because it was in the same great shape as its been since 1996.

If he really has no idea of what he has, ask him how much he wants per game. When he wants like ten bucks a piece, snap up the Paper Mario, Castlevania, and then something a little more common to throw him off the scent.

If his logic is that it's worth $300 due to the condition try and go by game, or if you think he's a lost cause, just roll with the low ball and piss him off with it and maybe he'll get a clue and do some research.

At $300 it isn't anywhere near reality. I'm thinking even on the high end that N64 is worth $50 with the exp pack and the controller. KI Gold is like worth $20 high, same with Indy, and a CIB Castlevania LOD and Paper Mario are worth a good little bit too, but the rest are crap pretty much at $5 a pop. Maybe that's how he's figuring $300 but he's got to realize that's a lot, not a lot of individual sales. If I were brand new to n64 and starting out it's a good base, I'd go max $200 on it, but with existing stuff $100 is fair at the worst (to me.)

What captmorgandrinker said. Buy them on a per-game basis, a CIB CV: LoD is a steal at $10 or even $20.

I think this guy is a classic case of prey on the uneducated with money to spend. Some one that don't care would pay that. I see it all the time at the local flea market but resist saying anything to customers since it's none of my business. I always lowball people like this for my own self satisfaction

I'm not sure it's a great price but workable. Castlevania CIB is worth a few good dollars as is Paper Mario, but I know the average price per game is around 7.25 or so. I guess you could research what they all sell for and see if it will be worth your while flipping the crap you don't want.

Personally I'd pass but that's just me. If it came with 4 official controllers then probably, but only one I'd be over it.

true.  however, i offered 110 and he countered with 125.  i'm going to offer a solid 120 if it seems worthwhile.
