* Game Boy & Game Boy Color batteries will be replaced with new battery only as there is no holder I have encountered small enough to fit inside a Game Boy cart.

Now changing your game save battery next time it dies will be as simple as just popping out the new battery and sliding a new one into the mounted holder! I am aware that some people may be able to do this themselves, and if you are technically inclined, then by all means pass this service up.  However if you aren't, or don't want to take the risk of damaging your game, shoot me a PM. Just curious, do you manage to keep the savestates by somehow maintaining power to the SRAM?

its possible but its a pain.  you have to wire up a slave battery before you remove the old one and have it remain connected through desoldering and resoldering the new one.  Its tricky, and can be done, but not worth the hassle cause a slight disconnection and bam, its lost.

Sounds like a great deal, but you should really have a CopyNES + Retrode. That way you can back up the saves of NES/SNES/Genesis games first, replace battery, then rewrite the saves. Emailing peeps the save for use on emulators could be part of the service too.

shameless plug huh!? :-).  I just recently heard about the Retrode actually.  Looks like a pretty cool device.  I'll have to look more deeply into it.

I wouldn't call it shameless, but educated. Most people probably didn't know that was possible. It is a practical way for people who want to backup their saves. Since you are offering to do the battery replacement service, if you had a copynes you could enhance the quality of your services by giving them their saves back. The retrode is pretty slick. If they figure out how to make it work with the NES, I'm allllll over it!

You could solder a small capacitor in parallel to the battery. This would give you some time to switch batteries without losing save.

Would you consider a bulk discount? I have about eight games that need to be done.

correct, you just slide the little tab back, the battery pops out, and just clip in a new one.
