VIDEO OF PROCEDURE COMING SOON FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES

ALSO COMING SOON (RELATIVELY)...GAME SAVE BACKUP AND REFLASH...details to follow...

PROFESSIONAL GAME SAVE BATTERY REPLACEMENT NOW AVAILABLE!!!

BULK PRICING TIERS...

1-4 games      $9  each
5-9 games      $8  each
10-24 games  $7  each
24-49 games  $6  each
50+ games      $5  each

1. NEW CR2032 3v Battery.
2. Onboard CR2032 Clip-in Battery Holder.*
3. Labor Charge For Installation.
4. Return Shipping Coverage
5. Lifetime Guarantee On Install (not battery obviously)*

* Game Boy & Game Boy Color batteries will be replaced with new battery only as there is no holder I have encountered small enough to fit inside a Game Boy cart.

Now changing your game save battery next time it dies will be as simple as just popping out the new battery and sliding a new one into the mounted holder! I am aware that some people may be able to do this themselves, and if you are technically inclined, then by all means pass this service up.  However if you aren't, or don't want to take the risk of damaging your game, shoot me a PM. Thanks Everyone @ NA!

SNES cart with battery holder installed. Looks nice huh!?  These holders sit flush with the board, and unlike almost every other one, DO NOT POSE ANY ISSUES closing the game.

NES cart with battery holder installed.  Again, same as above, these sit flush with the board and pose no issues closing up the cart as normal. ** Depending on the type of board the NES games use, one of the plastic posts may need to be physically removed inside the cart to make it close. By submitting NES games for service you agree to allow me to perform said action**

Each game will also be tested to make sure games save properly several times before being returned to you so as to avoid redos and $ wasted for everyone on shipping. Thanks for all the interest everyone!

GAMES REPAIRED FOR NA MEMBERS AS OF 12-20-14: 493

Just curious, do you manage to keep the savestates by somehow maintaining power to the SRAM?

^If you have a game that still holds a save why would you replace the battery prematurely anyway?

Because it could die, and be lost forever?

its possible but its a pain.  you have to wire up a slave battery before you remove the old one and have it remain connected through desoldering and resoldering the new one.  Its tricky, and can be done, but not worth the hassle cause a slight disconnection and bam, its lost.

Sounds like a great deal, but you should really have a CopyNES + Retrode. That way you can back up the saves of NES/SNES/Genesis games first, replace battery, then rewrite the saves. Emailing peeps the save for use on emulators could be part of the service too.

shameless plug huh!? :-).  I just recently heard about the Retrode actually.  Looks like a pretty cool device.  I'll have to look more deeply into it.

I wouldn't call it shameless, but educated. Most people probably didn't know that was possible. It is a practical way for people who want to backup their saves. Since you are offering to do the battery replacement service, if you had a copynes you could enhance the quality of your services by giving them their saves back. The retrode is pretty slick. If they figure out how to make it work with the NES, I'm allllll over it!

You could solder a small capacitor in parallel to the battery. This would give you some time to switch batteries without losing save.

Would you consider a bulk discount? I have about eight games that need to be done.

well as soon as I raise enough money from the first batches of this I guess I'll have to invest in a Retrode then :-).

Will the battery holder you install allow the end user to replace the battery again in 10 years?

correct, you just slide the little tab back, the battery pops out, and just clip in a new one.

please do! and pass along the word lol.   Im trying to just get the service known at this point.  I have a couple of you guys sending me some stuff to start to get the ball rolling so they can put the word out on how they like the quality of service.  I'd like to be the go-to guy for battery replacements, and I feel my price is very fair considering the cost of parts.  Thanks for the interest!
