My wife was in a unusually good mood so I didn't get griped at for blowing money on games. Picked up Fester's quest at a pawn shop. I probably would have bought alot more if they would have sold them to me at 2.00 a cart instead of 2.99. They wouldn't though so I just bought that one.

Also I told the girl they might sell more of em if they didn't mark the prices on the carts. She said they do that do deter collectors and people who would just ebay them. I didn't quite understand that but oh well.

Went to Mckay's Used Books and bought alot of snes games and picked up Time Lord, Racket Attack, and Super Spike V Ball for like a buck a piece. It's gonna take me awhile to learn what's worth paying for because I don't know exactly all the ones that need to be snapped up if I see em but it was fun hunting for em.

just check the rarity guide here. if a cart is loose below a 3 dont spend more than 50 cents to a dollar...in general 60 percent of carts can be found for 5 dollars or less and about that many boxed are only worth 10.00 dollars or less...the rarity guide is a good guide.. when you get into the unlicensed games thats where the values increase.

Whoever is running the, is a genius. I remember the McKay's here used to be a little used bookstore. Less than 1,000 square feet. I remember when they first starting carrying used cd's. They had one little glass cabinet with them in it. So whoever is in charge there knows what their doing for sure. If these are different stores ours are huge warehouse type buildings with Books, music, games. Huge stores. The wesbite only shows Knoxville and Chattanooga so ya they are probably different.

Probably is the same then. Seems like all or most of us live on the East Coast, we should all meet up one day.

I go to the Mckay's here in Knoxville quite often, great place, but not that many NES games anymore. They are cherry picked though by the employees.

We should all get together. Me and my g/f drove to Dains sometime last year, we had a blast. KoopaTroopa is less than an hour away from me so I am sure we could get together sometime and do some game hunting or something. I am sure I could spend loads of you money, cause I have all the shit we would find here locally. Only about a 4-5 hour drive to Dain's from here also.

I wish I lived by some of you people...all I have is Dr. Morbis nearby. Not that that's a bad thing, but it's a real pain sometimes trying to organize a 4-player game night. Speaking of which, Basil, I still haven't found #4...again...

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

Well, I live near Nintendo HQ too... Canadian HQ that is I'm just across the border in British Columbia... 15 mins from the border, if that. How close are you to the border, anyway? Seattle area?

Ah Canada, land of the thousands of Black Captain Comic carts! LOL...

I live smack dab in the middle of WA state. Seattle is 2 and a half hours away. But I can go North from here up HWY 97 through Oroville and be in Canada much faster!

I am originally from Nashville and give a run down of all the good places to find game there if any of the Tennessee people are ever taking a road trip there. There are about 5 or 6 stores where you can still find alot of stuff .

Ah Oroville... nice area. So you're close to the wine country then. Too bad - sounds like a five hour drive from where I am.
