I want to take a moment to thank Dangevin for all the hard work he put into this e-zine, making it a reality. Thanks again, Dan!

I also want to thank all the writers who submitted articles -- they all looked great, and without your commitment, there wouldn't be an inaugural issue!

If anyone else didn't get the email for whatever reason, use the following URL (must be logged in):

http://www.NintendoAge.com/?go=ezine

That's the permanent link for each month's issue. Although, if you didn't get it, I'd like to know so I can troubleshoot why.

Didn't get it yet...

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

I got mine but it was caught in my yahoo bulk mail. Perhaps 300 recipients is too many for one shot without getting flagged

Wow, I just finished reading. There's a lot of good info in there, especially for someone like me who's just getting into the game side of collecting (instead of consoles and displays). Thanks to everyone who had a hand in that for putting that together and I'm looking forward to the next one!

I don't think that's it because each email is sent out separately (it's a loop). I do that so that we can re-send the mailer mid-month for all new users who joined and only have it sent to the ones who didn't receive it.

It's hard to say what each email provider considers to be spam, so this will likely be an ongoing problem with some users' providers. I checked the mailer logs and there were 318 emails sent (correct), with about 10 that bounced due to inavlid email addresses.

The users who bounced are as follows -- if you see your name on this list, please update your email address:

cabal 666
nester
nesfan4life
Nintendo nut
Spycee
mforys
Elecman
GameHead

If those accounts bounce a second time, buh-bye!

I've only read the first two articles so far (Braveheart's and Dain's)  neat stuff so far though!  The only thing that I squinted at was the reference to Security Screws in Dain's article.  Nintendo technically always used security screws, they just changed what style they used...it just so happens that their first security screw could be removed with a regular screwdriver if it was small enough.  :-p

I'm not sure I agree -- how are 5 screws that are flat-head security screws? To my thinking, they're simply there to hold the game pak shell together

Humn... I wrote an article and yet I did not receive an issue in my email? Dain is it perhaps sending out the emails with the "remove me" stuck in the email addresses thus sending them to nobody or to the wrong person? Just a thought since I didn't get one either and it seems like I'm not the only one.

I have the official bit for it...it isn't just a flat head. Not a big deal though...I'm just being a jerk.

I'm still trying to understand why some didn't get it and some did. From my side, there were no errors, and the "mail sent" logs files indicate 318 people *should* have received them; only 10 bounced, and the rest spooled correctly.

The "remove me" is something the forums software inserts on the display side of things -- it's not in the database (unless you entered your email address that way).

I just got done reading the e-zine. I printed me off a copy and read it while I eat dinner. I am pretty impressed by the selection of articles. Everyone touched on something different and it was packed full of good info. Especially considering this was the first issue, I am extremely impressed with the overall quality.

Great job to all the writers and to Dan for putting it together. Definitely a step in the right direction for the site, plus I have a feeling it is only going to get better as we crank the issues out!

If there is something you guys want to see or hear about, let Dan, Dain or myself know and we might be able to get it in. Please share your thoughts, ideas and suggestions with us.

An interesting read, yes. I'd say about the only thing missing is a section kinda tracking who sold what and for how much with regard to the bigger-$$$ games... Obviously, it doesn't detract from it if it isn't there, but I think it might be a worthy addition.

That could be an interesting section indeed. Something like that would work well in Eriks Battlefield section perhaps. He could devote a small section each month to what the big titles are bringing.

I have a few other random suggustions as well that I will pass along to Dan. Great stuff though.

Thanks a lot you guys for putting this together. I really enjoyed reading it and look forward to future ones. I agree that a market analysis would be interesting - something like that could be just a yearly feature. Another idea that I think would increase readership would be to have a contest for the readers - each month the winner could pick out a game from NGD's collection.
