Back in my day a mystery box only remained a mystery for a limited amount of time.  The fun of the mystery box auction was the winner revealing what they got inside!   Like half or more of the NA auctions are mystery boxes now, yet NO ONE ever reveals what they got anymore!

WHAT GIVES FUN HATERS?!?!?!

What say you?  Is it high time we brought back the tradition of the mystery box reveal threads?

Yeah if I saw some reveals then maybe I'd be more inclined to buy them in the future. I'm worried that it's just people pawning off scratch-and-dent lots or shoving as many worthless titles in a box and saying it's worth a decent amount in aggregate

I would 100% look at the reveal threads and be interested.

While I probably wouldn't be bidding on any because I need to be thinning out the herd as it is.... I think it would be another neat aspect of NA to enjoy.

I'm thinning the hard as well, but I couldn't pass up the Stan one.

I'll post a good old fashioned reveal thread when it arrives!

Maybe over in the NA Auction thread there could be a stickied Reveal Thread. I've bought more than a few mystery boxes over they years, but early on I noticed that most of those auction threads were locked tight before I even got the games, so there was no point in even showing them off.

Eventually, I didn't even care about the option. Plus... sometimes you get a box and you're bummed with the contents. That's no fun to reveal on camera. :/

That deserves to be posted too (maybe without commentary, just pics).

^Right, it helps people know for if that same person does another mystery box. It could go either way, if a box kicks ass they would probably get more bids next time around.

Nah, no worries.  I mean, the excitement of these boxes is that you might get something really cool and unexpected you may not ever consider to hunt for.  But, part of the larger experience is understanding that a box might actually be good but by bad luck it’s just not exiting to you.

I've been secretly wishing people would do exactly that with all of the boxes I've sent out.  Lots of good/fun ones.

Then they could make it a rule that the seller has to post pictures after X number of days.

I'd doubt the mods would want to have to police that though.

Admin started the thread.

They just make it a rule and if you violate the rule then you can't sell any more.

Admin wanted it because it's fun, not because he wants to police people over it.

Did you read the first post? Was the vibe you got "this has become a problem"? It reads a lot more like "Hey losers have some fun!".
