I got the idea from this topic- http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/...
Exp. You go to a local video game store and they have a Stadium Events for $3. When you pick it up and go to check out. The cashier says "This game is really rare! $3 is not the right price!" and bumps the price up to $500.
Or even find a amazing craigslist or ebay find but it's already sold. etc.
So the point is just to read and discuss stories of people's misfortunes.

For the masochist in all of us?

-------------------------
We are soldiers without borders, our purpose defined by the Era we live in; we will sometimes have to sell ourselves and services. If the times demand it, we'll be revolutionaries, criminals, terrorists.
And yes, we may all be headed straight to Hell, but what better place for us than this? It is our only home.
Our Heaven, and our Hell.
This, is Outer Heaven.

Id still slap down $500 in an instant!
Id be pissed on one hand, and still rather ecstatic on the other!

When Paul was here a while back, we hit up a PnT in Raleigh. The guy behind the counter started crying about the prices of his Game Gear games being wrong and that he was pissed off at his employees for pricing them incorrectly. They were all priced $.89 each, which is all they were worth to me, but this guy acted like he gave away the store.

Oh, as for category, I don't think this would fill a whole category, but we could always use this thread (by moving it) as the pseudo-category.

I thought the same thing. I don't think there would be enough Posts/topics for its own category. But, it would be a sweet subcategory. (or whatever it's called)

Are there any PnT's in Tennessee? I always heard the place was cool but never went to one.

Murfreesboro Tn has a Play N Trade and it's a nice place, I've hit it up a few times and found some decent games cheap. Rarer and popular titles are overpriced of course, but that's business.

Whoa, that's really horrible customer service. I did that kinda shit at my job, I wouldn't last long there.

I think my most recent near misses have been the most shattering actually. I was outsnipped on a jewel case MK3 on ebay. It was sitting at like 40 bucks and it ended at 56. Totally pissed at missing that one. Same goes for a mint sealed Marvel Super heroes on the saturn. That and the whole fiasco I went through to get Earthbound.

There was one in Turkey Creek but it closed soon after opening.  The one you linked say Farragut yet it's address is North Broadway.  Wtf?

I once responded to a craiglist ad for 2 NESs and multiple games including Contra Force. Like $75 for everything.
Went to pick it up the same day. As I looked through the lot I noticed Contra Force was missing and I asked about it. The gal told me that someone asked and bought that one from her specifically for $15. At least she gave $15 off the lot but I was disappointed.

I remember that place. I went there asking if they had used PS3 controllers. (at the time I only played PS3.)

I visited that one before when I was down there a year ago.  They had an Earthbound for $99.00 and I passed on it.  Seems like the price just keeps going up.

Nice area, too.

Had a Craigslist posting for a boxed Sega Master System and 80 CIB games for $75. Guy told me they were mine, but he couldn't meet until the next day. About an hour later he emails me and tells me someone offered him more and already came and got them. Did not give me a chance to match the offer and no mention of the fact that he said he wasn't available until the next day.

Yesterday at school I saw a local ad for an N64 with about 10 games at 50 bucks - not an amazing deal but there were 4 or 5 titles that I didn't have and I could quickly make a profit selling the console + dupes. Anyway my laptop ran out of battery as I clicked on the ad, and when I checked a school computer an hour later after class, the ad was gone. *sniffle*
