Bimmy also likes Paperboy

Bimmy, in your personal opinion....What do you think is "the" best Paper Boy game?

Doesn't even have to be one you own....Doesn't even have to be one that exists for that matter.

My favorite would probably have to be Paperboy 2 on the SNES.  I feel the controls are bit better in that one as opposed to the NES version.

I personally have never played that one, Bimmy.

After I was re-reading my comment I was reading Paper Boy Game as "Paper Game Boy"

Man it sounds all weird now.

I think it is the best in the series.  I tried playing the arcade version of Paperboy on a MAME emulator once and I was absolutely terrible at it.  The arcade version has bike handles you use to steer the paperboy on the street and that control style certainly doesn't translate very well to a keyboard in my opinion.

-------------------------

My NES collection count: 757 games (16 to go for a full set)

Latest Purchase(s): Snow Brothers

"Wait...Bimmy and Jimmy??  How'd they make a mistake like this!?  Bimmy isn't even a real name!"

Beware the Bimmy Marsh!

They absolutely are, and the game lags far less than the NES port.
Paperboy 2 on the NES lags a lot when too many objects are on screen. And that can cause the papergirl/boy to "whiff" a paper throw.
It does the throwing animation, but no paper is spawned.

Also, will we get a special 400K+ Bimmy score submission this week?

Happens to me all the time on the crash course.

It gets worse on middle way and hard way.
Specially when there is a car, a sewer hand, a skate boy and a mailbox on the same screen.
Or when there is a trash can, a hand, a mailbox and a pot on the same screen.
In that last case, you HAVE to aim for the mailbox. Otherwise your second throw will whiff and you won't get a perfect deliver that day, which is not acceptable.

Small update. Not even going to get in the same universe as Bea's score.

Come on! You can get at least 300K and I know it.

I did improve nearly 5k. I can get to Friday. I am also not good at being in the right position to hit the hand. I am good at putting the papers in the mailboxes though.

The hands are very tricky to hit. You have to slow way down and throw a paper at it's second or third frame of animation.
Even then I only hit them 60% of the time.
Also, great new score.

So do you bike in the street so you can hit the hand easier?

Nay. I ride on the sidewalk for the most part.
I just slow the hell down to try and hit it, or just avoid it when I think it would be too dangerous to try.
Tonight I will have video footage of that. I will make sure OBS will record the proper screen instead of a part of my desktop on my next attempt.

I haven't had any luck on hitting the hands either. The annoying one for me so far is the one that can appear opposite the couple on the swing. I either run into the hand or crash on the incline.

I'm up to 35K now. I'll post a pic of my best on Friday.

Usually when the hands appear I'm not in a position to hit them, only dodge.

And what's up with the wonky graphics? And why is the water grey in the obsticle course? It is sewage? Freshly poured concrete?

I'll cast my vote for freshly-poured concrete. It's the price you pay for being an insolent little paperboy who can't ride a bike!

I thought it was sand. I'm not sure what it is.
