I've been itching to play Duck Tales again lately, is the remaster worth getting? I saw a trailer for it and it looks really sweet! I've had a ps3 for over a year that has only ever played DVDs, might be time to finally get a game to go along with my sonic generations!

It is really great. The frequent cutscenes bugged me, but I think you can disable them.

I was really annoyed by the cutscenes by the time I was halfway through the first level.

Otherwise, it's a fun re-issue of the game that is different enough to be worth playing.
(also, graphically, the game is basically what we all WISHED the game could look like, as kids)

I really enjoyed playing it. And if you aren't in a hurry, sit back and watch the cut scenes. It's not like they're poorly made or anything.

I felt like the sound balance for them was jarring and they sometimes butted in as unexpected interruptions to the game.

The could have been better executed.

Cutscenes, eh? Probably not so bad if I'm gaming with an audience of my 5 year old and 2 toddlers.

Yes, in that case they will feel like they're watching the cartoon.

The game is fun, cutscenes are long as stated previously, but if you like the cartoon, you may enjoy them.

Personally, I couldn't stand the game. I made a point to suffer through the entire game the first time I played it so I'd never feel the need to play it again... and I haven't. Pretty sure I bought it the day it came out and haven't touched it since. It needlessly makes you go hunting for things that weren't in the NES version. It went from basically playing the game how you want to making you go through every section of each level to find things. I liked the ability to skip treasure hunting in the NES game and being able to speed run it in about 13 minutes. And the cut scenes just absolutely destroy the pacing. I know others feel differently... so I guess that's just me.

I enjoyed it, but I'm a big fan of the original. The cutscenes can be skipped, by the way. It's just a prettier version of the NES game, but I still recommend it if you like platforming games.

I liked the updated graphics and motion mechanics, but I was expecting more. I was especially hoping for a combination of Duck Tales 1 & 2. Unless I missed something it was only the first, which was disappointing. It's a nice way to kill an afternoon.

5/7 - would play again.

I enjoyed it quite a bit - I didn't mind the cut-scenes. I did feel that sometimes they were a little bit random and perhaps unnecessary, but it still didn't bother me too much.

Duck Tales was one of my favorite NES games growing up, so I was pretty excited about the remake when it came out.

Also...even just seeing this thread title already has the moon level theme stuck in my head all morning. I love that song.

If you were a fan of the original, this is a good pickup and a good nostalgia trip. First-time players will probably think the game is decent but might be left wondering what's so classic about it.

I liked the cut scenes. I like the voice acting since its original cast. I loved it.

After you beat it, the credits roll and later on in the credits theres a great moon theme piano rendition. Made me actually want to listen to the credits lol

Loved the game, and I didn't mind the cutscenes personally. The last part made me rage a bit because of the difficulty. lol Still, not a bad game.

Also, RIP Alan Young.

The end-run IS a bigger jump in difficulty than exists in the NES game, for sure.

Love the remaster. Voice acting was on point. Welcomed the harder modes.

The price for a physical copy nearly tripled in the past few days especially the Wii U version.

I wonder if this means that all physical games will triple in value as their digital counterpart gets delisted. I don’t recall this being a particularly uncommon Wii U game..

Told my friend last night and she instantly bought a PS3 copy.

I wonder which one will sell the highest....
