Magic Eraser is worth a shot I guess. However I'm pretty sure with the amount of scrubbing it will take to get rid of that stuff, you will scrub the texture completly off.

Yeah it would definitely make it smooth. I guess you have to take it on preference? Porno set victim cart or smooth body and hopefully clean cart.

It isn't worth a try with magic eraser IMO. It looks like plastic discoloration. I am positive you can't rub that away... You need heat....

Same procedure:

Ok, forget that idea. I tried. It works, but the cart gets more glossy. Might work better if I used some more time. Definitively works though, but blank plastics are easier to work with.

Hilmarf, I am curious to see what a cartridge would look like by using heat. If you ever get around to it post some pictures so I can check them out.

How much heat?  I'm tempted to test this on some crappy carts.  Any helpful tips?

Yeah are we talking like hair dryer heat from like 4 inches away or what? I think I got a cart I'm wanting to sell with that spoogy looking white stuff to it too, and I got another that has discolored a bit greenish I'm game to test this on.

Id say take the Magic Eraser to it. If it fixes the color issues, but removes the texture, you are still better off. If you arent satisfied with the result, try the hair dryer trick on your donor cart. Theres your practice, badda bing!

Even if you admit you bought this at Michael Jackon's estate sale I wouldn't pay $110. That's a pretty gnarly cart dude, power to you if you get $150 but I just don't see it happening.

Well, a blue flame is needed. I have a handheld torch from dealextreme I use for shining my pinball ramps. On a NES cart you need to use much more time doing it than on clear plastics it seems, or else it will be too glossy. Keep a VERY safe distance if you go over it slow, nearer if you do it fast. You have to try for yourself, but nes carts wasn't the easiest to work with

might be a good idea to try this with one of those small butane jet lighters as opposed to a blowtorch, whoooboy..and im sure it goes without saying that its a better idea then not to take the circuitboard out so you dont risk any damage to any components. i'm curious to see how well this works, please report back.

Damn! I'm shocked that went for $105.

im not shocked at all. People need to realize condition doesnt matter to everyone. I sold my decent looking copy for 120 plus shipping last year in about 2 hours. The game is popular. Some people just want the game.

Yeah you can slather butter on them and pretend they're a giant piece of toast.
