The notoriety of this game must've driven this BIN down. Not a bad pick-up for an R9 box, I don't think.

Makes me feel better after missing out on that big black-box auction last night.

Damn it, I still need that one That box is really damn tough to find, especially in decent shape. Great pick up! I am jealous. I am getting a few tough boxes in in the coming days my self. Got a Lempereur box/manual/map coming, a Jetsons and a Contra Force on the way

Jason my man, offer up a trade. That seller put two Urban Champion boxes up a few weeks ago... I bought the better condition one for trade bait and it's been on my trade list. The one I got from him is a Hang-Tab box that the hang tab isn't even punched yet and 5 screw cart. Don't have a spare book though. I would trade just the box to you and keep the cart in the trade pile.

I was wondering if its a bit overstated as a r9 box... are we really suggesting this is as hard to find as a stadium events cart?

Don't know, maybe it is. I got my copy long ago so its not like I have watched the market for it - just seems like a bold claim.

It definetly isn't that rare Bronty. I see way more of them than SE carts that's for sure. They are hard to find and maybe I would agree with the R9 if we are talking MINT box as UC boxes are usually beat like Nistle's CC Box!!

I actually saw both of those and passed on them. For some reason, I just didn't feel like buying them, even at $4 each. That's one heck of a deal, because that box really is an r9, IMO. You see maybe 3-4 a year.

Now THAT I can totally see... its another early release that wasn't reprinted, just like chubby cherub, so makes sense that most UC boxes would be beat to crap.

I disagree -- I see way more SE carts than Urban Champion boxes.

You've only seen three or four a year, huh? Interesting.

Definitely a great deal either way.

There's *at least* 1 SE cart a month, think about it. I've been tracking black box games closely for at least 2 years now, looking for variations. It took me 5 months to get an Urban Champion box, and I've only seen a small handful since.

Okay, I believe you Although I will say that due to its high price, I think SE gets traded a lot on ebay. In other words, availability on the market is not the same as rarity. IMO, if a UC box was worth $800, you'd see them waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more. A UC sale won't pay the rent, you know? I know for a fact that raregamergirl bought and sold her SE within a few months. So that looks like two sales when in fact it is one copy. I'm sure that happens all the time with high priced items, and not just in video games.

If I had to guess, if a UC box was worth $800, we'd see a lot more sales of UC boxes. Every month at a minimum, I think.

I'm totally guessing here, I admit that. But you can't discount the role that market price plays in availability. I'll totally believe anything you have to say about this Dain, no question. It's actually kind of cool to hear that its not on ebay much as this game is sentimental favorite for me as its the first of the rarer sealed black boxes I ever found. But I will make the point that its hard to compare the two with confidence when the two items are so far apart pricewise.

All that being said (I like the sound of my own voice ) then I guess an r9 designation is appropriate for now. Be interesting to see what happens to the availability/price over time.

Thanks for passing. I figured it must have been out there for at least a little while, but I hadn't checked on that game in over a month. The amazing part to me is who the seller is. Discount Games normally doesn't offer anything worthwhile at prices like this.

Due to box shelf wear and the one inside tab that is ripping I would sell it to you for $13 shipped. Overall nice copy with hang tab still unpunched.

Not too often, but I snagged a DK Jr. Math manual from him for $4 a while back. He actually has some decent deals on CIB games, now that he sells them that way (and when you hunt common box variations, you can't beat some of his prices).

Yeah I buy a lot of manuals and stuff from him but watch out though, he often misses one or two if you order a pile of stuff at a time. Happened to me 2-3 times already. Plus his stuff is not always that good of shape. For instance I just bought 15 game manuals for the 3 vs 5 screw stuff and he shorted me Alpha Mission manual. Then I asked about it and he sent it today and it has stickers all over the front of it that won't come off.

I just picked up a copy of Urban Champion CIB too for about $18 shipped, but it came with 4 other games CIB. I agree that not too many people realize how hard to find the box is. What's harder is to find the box in good condition.
