Thanks for the link, I spent an hour yesterday trying to find a picture of this figure, but couldn't find it. Very handy!

I knew they were rarer, but I didn't think they were worth over 50. Will be interesting to watch this ride out.

Over $50? I thought they were damn near $100...

Which is rarer, orange or blue? I forget...

These are $75-$100 every time this past year.

Blue, green and purple are all more rare than orange. It seems the majority of NTSC ones came with orange.

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

BTW if anyone with a pic of the green one could send it to [email protected], it's the only one we don't have so far.

Just an educated guess, but it looks as if there is a pretty good pool of Monsters In My Pocket Collectors. The cereal promos, the toys, etc are selling for a pretty good cash amount for a plastic figure. I dont think this is the Nintendo Community really inflating these prices IMO

This happens much more often than the casual collector may realize.  I briefly touched upon this in my eZine article a few months back about treating NES games as a stock market of sorts.  One of the categories I used in rating a game's future value is its "indirect appeal", meaning does it appeal to people outside of the NES market.

Oddly enough, I know that at least my Goonies II and Beetlejuice NES CIBs from my sell-off went to non-NES collectors.  The Goonies II buyer sent me a message asking "Do you have any other Goonies II memorabilia?" and the Beetlejuice guy had a screenname similiar to classic_movie_collector (memory fails me).

So basically, screw those damn Monster in My Pocket collectors for driving up the price of a little toy figure

Yep, games like Star Trek and Star wars are quite often the same way.

Why didn't M.U.S.C.L.E. come with one of these? M.U.S.C.L.E. rules. You know what doesn't? Typing out M.U.S.C.L.E.

The last one went for some sick money too. I sold one for less than half about nine months ago, and just traded a sealed mint MiMP for $150 trade value. Looks like the damned toy collectors are really running away with this one.
