I assume some of you have watched the recent Gaming Historian video on the Canadian-based NES publisher Camerica. I did the research for this video as I was already researching the company just out of personal interest. This research has shown me a couple of mysteries in the company’s history, in specific, a piece of vapourware known as
The DAC.
This is the only information on this thing I could find, from the first issue of Italian magazine Game Power. A rough translation of the article reports that the peripheral ANY variant of an NES cartridge on your console - JP Carts, PAL Carts, Unlicensed Carts, you name it!
It’s also allegedly developed by a small company called
Digital Audio Corporation, hence the name of the peripheral. I can’t find find anything on this company, probably from the extremely vague name.
If anyone knows anything about this then please tell me.
