AV? Get with the times, pops. It plays games in colour too.

I only have two HDMI jacks on my HDTV, both of which are currently being occupied by systems that are designed to be played in HD.  And since every one of the other TVs I own predates HDMI, I think I'll just play my NES games on the original hardware.  I was actually pumped for the AVS for the scoreboard, but now that I've seen what it ended up being, the fact  isthat I have no intention of using it on a giant screen HDTV, so it's just not worth the investment for me.  I'll just play my NES on the 23" CRT and leave the big screen for my Xbox One.

I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

I was thinking of getting one and using a HDMI to RCA converter, but that would defeat the purpose if a converter also introduces lag.

I'm with you, man. I wish it had more than just HDMI output.

It would definitely render the visual upgrade of playing through the AVS pretty moot.

Did you also not buy the latest high-tech stereo system because there was no 8-track deck?

Kidding, kidding, I saw your answer above

Haha in all fairness, I did stop buying stereos due to the lack of a dual cassette deck    Although I found an old component one to add to my current setup, so I'm satisfied with that

SMB 1. I test all controllers and systems that way. I know exactly how it should look, feel, and sound.

Wait a second. The avs will lag hooked up to a flatscreen? I thought the point of this thing was to be able to play NES on a flatscreen tv via hdmi?

As soon as I can afford to get my hands on one, it will definitely happen.  I have an autographed cart ready to go.

No. The AVS to a flatscreen HDTV is fine, it's when you try to use converters and what not to use it on an older TV.

There are HDMI multiplexers available cheaply, though my PS3 does not seem to like it. My computer was fine with it.

Quadralords was the first game I played on the AVS. If you have Vaus controllers they're fun to use with the game

The first NES game I'll play will be whatever game I'm actively playing then!

For Famicom I'll probably pop in Holy Diver.

I'm definitely going to try one of my PAL carts too. Probably Asterix first since that's the only one I have that barfs right away on the top loader.

One of the homebrew games in my current backlog.

Having the only CRT in the house be in the study does not lend itself to how I can use my current gaming free time in the late evening.

Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt. First I'll plug in either the 8bitdo reciever, or this:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/302...

Then I'll save the princess, taking the long way through all 32 stages. And upload a score to scoreboard if it's available. Next I'll reset, plug in the Zapper, choose Duck Hunt, and watch as the ducks fly away with every pull of the zapper trigger.

After that, I'll prolly just grab a beer and chill to some sweet tunes from "A winner is You."

Didn't give this much thought, but ended up being Mega Man IV. I received a copy in the mail today along with my AVS, so it was right there.
