I miss battling it out with you guys and am hopeful that I can return before the season is up, but I still have to get some things squared away before I can come back.
Great to hear that things are getting better. Hope to see you back around the contests soon!

Not sure I quite understand so I'll post both pics I have. The second one is just a bit further than the first, but if I'm understanding this correctly it doesn't count because I didn't manage to snap a pic with my score in it?

Yup, that was my understanding.  The second pic has no score, so it doesn't count.

Unless you're videotaping, it's probably wise to spend most of your last life snapping pics unfortunately.

3000 points in level 4!

And by the way, I don't know how you are going to sort the scores by level! Can you explain how this works?

^^^ 3000 through level 4 is impressive, since it can sometimes take forever to farm the key in lvl 2.

I want to participate in weekly contests, even though I know I will never win (the fun of trying is the whole point right?), but this is the third week in a row of a game I don't own. Are emulators allowed.....

You betcha. http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=31&th...
Emulators

- Emulators ARE allowed to be used in the weekly contests. However, anything that may give a player an advantage with an emulator over playing on the system is NOT allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, save states, Game Genie codes, altered ROMS, and turbo controls.

PowerPak

- A PowerPak IS allowed to be used in the competition with the same regulations as with emulators. You may not use save states, Game Genies codes, altered ROMs or anything else that would give you an advantage over playing with the regular cartridge.

Yes,  you guys don't want to get a Game Over this week.  By allowing you guys to play on your last lives but not get a Game Over adds some variety to the contest.  But, there's also some risk involved.  Do you play it safe and snap your picture when you get to your last life, or do you risk it all by getting as close to death as possible?

I know the game well enough where I will be able to tell how far everyone gets in the game and where they exactly end their run.  If two people die in the same spot, the lower score takes precedence.  I know the rules are a bit weird, but I think you guys will enjoy this once you play it a few times

@gutsman: Nice to hear from you and hope everything is going well for you.

Of course, since you have to rush to get the end screen since it lasts for a whopping 5 seconds, i flashed out my name card completely. If I need to beat it again I will. Posted high score board, since I wasn't sure how to take a score with lives remaining and had to let the counter increase my score at the end of the last level.

^That's fine, Luke. If anyone beats the game this week, do like Luke did and take a picture of the end screen and the high score screen if you can't capture your score sooner.

It's not that you can capture the screen sooner, but more of because its a low score contest, you have to wait for the end level bonuses to be added, and then the Congrats screen pops up right after and there is nowhere to cap your score.

If you guys could try to take the picture with the blue dot on the stage progression visible, this could help Bimmy a lot.

Well the blue dot goes away when you pause the game. So you can't really get a picture without dying then.

Really? What about pausing the game, prepare everything for your shot, unpause the game and quickly take your shot?

Participation point for me, unless I decide to try and revisit later on this week. That second level is tough, this was my 4th attempt trying to get a lower score. The safe key finally dropped on like the 6th guy or so. Before, it wasn't until double digits.
