As soon as my tax return comes in I plan on buying that tpb of all 48 at a time. As much as I'd much rather buy the individual books, I don't think I could find them cheap enough :/

I'm just wondering, to what degree does it spoil the show? I've heard people complain about how much different the show is, but to me that's fine. I'd rather have both keep me guessing than already know what's going to happen.

it wont spoil the show much. there are lots of differences, and even the times when they are on the same storyline, the details happen to different people. youll love both, but love the books better.

I read the comics long before the show. I tried to like the show but honestly dont. The Daryl character is cool and I understand them changing things to be different so you dont know what to expect. I just didnt like the changes. The tone in the comics is much darker to me and I guess thats what I was expecting. All of the really controversial stuff from the comics seems to get axed.

For people who have not read the comics here is an example of differences. Ricks son kills Shane in the woods. The old guy dale was banging these young chicks traveling with him. They dropped the serial killer from the prison that was very dramatic etc...

Really? That is so strange you say that, I felt the comics were really slow some times. There are whole issues where no one dies and its just bleak stares being shared but that's just my take. I may try to give the show another go I was just so pissed we didn't get Karl blasting Shane in the neck.

On another note I find it funny how every time I go in Game stop they have only Shane action figures....

I'm not a huge fan of the comics. I read them from the beginning and I honestly like the direction that the TV series is going. Tons of stuff I never want to see in the TV show  that I like in the books. It's very different, I can see liking one and not the other,

I enjoyed reading the comics and still do. There are a lot of differences between the comics and the show but they are both great.

Battle Pope lead me to the Walking Dead haha. I Guess having read the comics before the show I had certain expectations. I imagine if it were the other way around though it would be quite enjoyable.
