I could probably handle something like that.

I think some of your odd-ball gameplay threads could be compacted into articles pretty effectively.

Yeah, your review on FF1 was really enjoyable.

Hooray for the e-zine! I'd love to help, but I don't think I have any skills. I do have an article, but I want to rework it a bit.

Even good article ideas are welcome. I've been in the situation multiple times where I felt like writing and didn't have a topic in mind.

I wrote an article a while ago. If I dig it up, I'll resubmit it to the editor email instead of just sending it to Dangevin. Assuming I don't get too lazy.

-------------------------

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

I've been doing tons of research into Game & Watches, their history, a running price guide, any accessories, memorabilia, advertisements and all the various variants.

Once I get down to writing up on it all, I'll definitely send it in the ezine.
As someone already said, I'd love to see more outside of just the NES and I'm going to contribute that in.

-------------------------
I'm on the hunt for any and all:
Game & Watch games and memorabilia.

PM me if you can help a brotha get way into a slice of any of these.
Thanks in advance!

I love the eZine

How about a section for interesting things about NES games that most people probably wouldn't know? I'm thinking of something like the "Classified Information" section of Nintendo Power, I always loved reading that

Or maybe a section for the Game Genie? Fun codes to mess around with. One thing I loved about Nintendo Power was that it had recurring articles. Like the Counselor's Corner, where people could send in questions about certain video games and get an "expert" response.

One of my favorite eZine articles was the "Buyer's guide to negotiating". I'd love to see more articles focusing on the business side of collecting, trading, buying, and selling.

A few more ideas:

Two types of competitions. The first being similar to the Power Player's Challenge in Nintendo Power. Just a simple High Score -ish competition. High scores for puzzle or arcade-style games, most money, fastest times, etc.

The second being personal challenges. Twists on the classics.
-How far can you get in Zelda II without leveling your skills at all without losing a life?
-Can you beat Super Mario Bros. 2 with the NES QuickShot joystick controller?
-Upside down?
-Highest score on Tetris without rotating pieces?

etc. Challenges that can't really be accurately measured in a competitive aspect. I guess most people wouldn't bother, but I get a lot of enjoyment replaying games with a cruel twist and seeing how well I can keep up.

I don't want to seem like I'm ripping off Nintendo Power too much. But they had a great magazine going

There's a contest running currently that could simply have the results put in the e-zine.

Love the "bet you didn't know this about the hardware" idea.... We've got some knowledgeable people on here.

Maybe a running intro to programming section? (starting with necessary "materials")

And Hidden Gems would be a fun spotlight on lesser known, but worthwhile, games.

You know what's funny? That's more or less what my article was about...

I'm gonna dig that up...probably on the weekend, possibly earlier.
