I was checking out ConsoleColors.com for the various models and colors released and came across a dozen or so colors that were supposedly released exclusively to Nintendo World yet I cannot find ANYthing out about them other than that brief description on ConsoleColors.com. Can anyone provide any information about these? How many exist, if any? Were these just prototypes showing potential colors but were never officially made? Were these just DS Lite shells and not actual DS Lite systems?  Any info is appreciated!

I feel like that's what they are - just prototypes. But I thought maybe there was a slight chance they were sold at one point. I'd like to get my hands on that hunter green one!

actually they were offered for sale at the NYC WORLD OF NINTENDO STORE..what you are looking at are samples of the available colors, what they were doing was..you would select which color you like..and pay I believe it was a $120 premium over the MSRP for a white DS lite, and they would "special order" one for you, and it was sent off to a vendor (aftermarket)..it is what can be called code 2..an official Nintendo outlet, takes a standard DS, and sends it to be repainted to a aftermarket specialist and then the store calls you back when you can pick it up or you can have it shipped..on stock in hand, they usually just had 1 of each..if you wanted it, they had that one..they would sell it to you for price of DS lite plus $120..if not in stock, they'd tell you it'll be yours in 2 weeks.

so if you could figure out what local vendor in NYC was painting these, you could just get it done for yourself, for probably half the price..or any other person with the know how..but that's what all that is..aftermarket paint option for those that liked it.
