I dont endorse fake things.
Arms open and close with the gear box inside the arm area. Something( A metal washer) is spinning freely of a gear and it needs to be stuck on that gear. Doesnt need to be spinning freely.
Up and Down is also dealt with in the gear arm box. Side to Side is in the Base gear box.
Its very hard to explain without photos and breakdown.
I used that video to start understanding things. The gear side closest to him controls the open and close I believe. The one on the other side (with the extra white gear on the axel) controls up and down.
Id suggest being very careful and picture things before you start so you know how the gears go back in if you cant remember
