I think Dain was tired of being raped by eBay/Paypal fees... I'm pretty sure you'll see the store return in a new way soon enough!

Exactly what happened. I am probably going to be closing mine in the next month or so as well.

Yeah, eventually. I think everyone here should be able to have their own store should they choose to without losing an arm in the process. I think we can make our own marketplace if we continue to grow the way we have.

I honestly feel that more people would sell items on Nintendoage becuase they can be assured that the people viewing the auctions can appericate the subtle differnces that can mean hundreds of dollars.

Only problem is, unless we attract a steady stream of dilettantes and moms, there'll be few people to buy the vast majority of loose commons. And these are the least profitable carts to resell on the Bay. So this is the conundrum, no?

Although the moderate and big items will be superb to market here because you're not paying your hard-earned final value fees outside the hobby/community to the great eBay money-incinerator. And loose books and boxes will thrive in this environment.

But as the site grows and we get new collectors it might also be a decent way to unload those cheap common titles and not have to pay egay.

So when does it go live? Think I'll be closing shop too...

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

Yes and no -- what you guys may not realize is that I have intentionally stopped all BOTs from combing NintendoAge (robots.txt). I did this early on because they tax the server; however, once the update happens, that restriction will be removed and Google, Yahoo, Altavista, et al will start indexing NA. With this indexing, we can leverage this site as a marketplace. In time, people will find it and even buy the common games.

I wouldn't make any decisions based on NA -- if you want to open a store, I'd go ahead and do it. In other words, the storefront is going to be very beta at first.

A dollar in the future is potential, but a dollar now is earned. Sell your games Jared, there'll be more.

Consider also that common 1$ games are almost like 6$ to ship now due to shipping/listing fees, shippings killing it, not ebay. Nintendo Age should have its own part of the website to sell items IMO.

I still ship all my loose games at 2.97, and I combine at about 1.50 each additional. it covers postage, materials and all fees. Anything extra is asking the buyer to pay you for your labor, like a tip. I figure, I just do my job right and the cartridges make me money on their own, I don't need to forcibly take a tip from good buyers.

I say we ship all our dupes to Dain, and let him sell them on consignment.

Sorry Dain , although if you become a variant collector, that would be heaven.

I'm already a variant collector, but I'd rather not have everyone ship me their dupes -- I'd have no place to put them all right now, much less my own piles of crap! You should see my room now... I can barely walk in it.

Same problem I have . I once thought of opening an eBay store of my own, but I've heard too many mixed reviews, and I only sell on eBay when I have some scarce or rare items to list. I very nearly listed my spare Flintstones 2 (which I eventually sold to antofarabia), just to see what turned up...it would've been a $9.99 starting bid, no reserve, and no BIN. But this I will say: for rarer/pricier NES stuff (possibly also SNES and N64), this will be the site on which I do my listing.
