That brought back a lot of memories. Thanks for posting it. I almost forgot the hysteria the NES created. It's hard to explain to the youngsters who weren't around, but that clip gives you a good idea.

LOL, great video! What's even more entertaining is to see our dear friend Bill O'Reilly as the host

Nice video ! Those game counselors must have been crazy. Playing a game entire days just so they can answer some kids who are stuck somewhere. And answering the same question every day... That would take the joy out of gaming for me...

Ya I remember the tips line being in Nintendo Power and some games had thier own tips lines. What's funny is if a kid called a number like that now, when the phone bill comes in their parents would beat them silly.

There is an interview over at NESWarpZone with Ben Smith, he was actually one of the game counselers and helped with the NWC contest. It is a great read if you haven't read it before.

I loved seeing those new games hanging from the shelves. Games nowadays are always behind glass :/ And for the record I had that Mario underwear as a kid. And Sonic underwear too for that matter!

Awesome clip.

Ya all those games full on the shelves is a site to see. Some of my fondest memories was going to Walmart and seeing all the games to choose from. I used to buy games if they looked fun. Now I buy games if they are worth the 60.00 bucks. Kinda sad really. I can still remember the smell the NES entertainment system had when I opened it on Christmas.
