So that's why you sold it to me....

wiz- Haha hilarious. I do remember you saying that before. Funny how the most common games can elude you. Also just found Festers Quest!

Sold you a Silent Service?.....Ummm.....I would never do that to a person....(<_<).....(>_>)

Fester's Quest is actually good, until you die and start all the way back at the beginning. Then it becomes bad.

Agreed 100%. I wish people would give that game more of a chance.

It would've been much better if there were pictures so that we who want to buy the game CIB can have a better reference as to if it's missing anything.

Austin- That is an absolutely incredible submission!! I think 10 or 11 of those 14 are new to the list.

Wiz- I think that calls for an update at...some...point!

Two giant cups of coffee later and I finished reading this thread. This is why I joined NA. It's unfortunate that such an ambitious project has apparently been abandoned. Say it ain't so! After reading the thread I then counted the gamefaqs list and there are over 200 unique titles that were opened and the contents recorded. Closer to 300 with variants included. Come on people, something like this can't be left for dead. Where you at Wiz? Maybe you need an inspirational quote:

Jesus: The bible wasn't built in a day.

There see? Jesus didn't give up.

I'm not a high roller in the sealed NES world but, would you believe it? The only game I have sealed for the NES is Dr. Mario and its not on the list! Anyone else want to contribute? A project like this is what collecting is all about. Dain opened 70 games!!!! 70!!!! Kid Dracula, I lost count! The Wiz opened Panic Restaurant!! Are you kidding me?!?! Metal Storm, Mega Man 6, Caltron, Duck Tales 2!!?! A lot of the hard work has already been done.

I loved how people were calling these members crazy while this was happening. No shit! It's fucking insane! So what!

I'll open my copy of Dr. Mario for the betterment of Nintendokind. Yeah it's not that big of a sacrifice, I'm aware, but hey, it's all I got.

It really does. I was hoping for more of an early 90's smell but I haven't opened a new NES game in 25 years. Way over due.

Trying to upload additional pictures. There is no way this going back in the same way it came out haha!

Yeah, it's like going back in time for a brief second. Sort of.

Haha what does an early 90's smell smell like? I like the sounds of it!

It smelled...better, for a lack of a better term.

It is like a time machine, I couldn't however bring my self to open it the same way I did then. When I was a kid the 3 NES games I received new were Zelda, Zelda II and SMB 3. I decimated those boxes. Instant garbage.

Haha of course that was the quickest way to play the game back then! I guess that's why we see so few boxes to carts.

Ahh the nostalgia of an early 90's smell haha. I love the new NES smell but admittedly it's mostly a cardboard/fresh-factory- plastic type of smell.

That new NES game smell is like how the summer in Michigan felt in '92, or remembering watching the California Raisins Christmas Special when it aired. Just these fleeting memories that put you right back for a second.

Really, I've gotten more satisfaction out of opening this game then I've gotten out of playing one as of late. To anyone who hasn't opened one in a while, it's worth the price of admission. Feels good.

It is exciting. Happy to be able to contribute. To me this list is one of the most significant documentations, if not the most, of the hobby.

Bronty, care to finish off the list? I'm sure you could wrap this up if you got your hands on a hammer and a box cutter.

Did they coat NES games with soul glow back then? I don't remember new games being so greasy. I feel like the game should've cured in the air before I touched it because now my fingerprints are engraved on it. :/
