So I have had this system up in my closet, sitting in its nice box for ove a half year and then friday something changed. I had a guy interested in it, but after he inspected it, he told me it was one from a recalled batch, supposedly notorius for causing house fires. I have found nothing to back this up or anything to even verify it exists.

The other rairty I have is a sealed copy of the Collectors Edition Zelda, black labeled front, with 4 games. Thanks in advance for the help

p.s. - The recall system is wihtin a rare box itself. A target special Zelda LttP. Everything inside is pristine, from the cart to documents and manuals. It is trully stunning to see something older like that weather so well

Perhaps he lost interest in buying it when he saw it or something? Never read up on any cases of a batch of SNES consoles burning houses to the ground.

Depends how nice the LoZ: CE for Gamecube is, but ungraded probably $80-100?

No clue on the system.

The reason why you couldn't find any info to back this up is because there is no such thing as a recalled edition SNES. Did he give any info into how he know it was a recalled one? Nothing about special markings or anything? No, because it was BS and he probably figured he didn't have the money with him so he up and lied.

Your SNES is like any other SNES Complete.

Agreed. Sounds like a BS story he made up for some reason. I don't think I've ever heard a single story of anyone's SNES burning their house down.

Smells like the same bullshit as the $10,000 NES 001.

Yeah, even if there was incident, the odds are pretty slim to none, but that's not to say that there probably wasn't a time when a SNES caught fire before. If something like that where to happen, it would have to be that a person was using the wrong AC power supply, or the wiring in the house wasn't up to optimal standard according to code. So that wouldn't even be the console's fault to begin with.

If there was a recall, it would be pretty notorious on Nintendo's part (everyone would have known) and the OP's buyer would have explained the differences (Which I doubt there would be if a such thing where to happen)

@ Thaddeus: Take some pics and show them here. You'll have no problem selling it. Also since this is a collectors forum, if there ever was a such thing as a recalled version (which there isn't), you'd still have no problem selling it. lol

I figured as much when I heard him say something. I remember him saying something about the screws themselves were off and upon further investigation and comparance they are. One indeed looks.... Odd. Like it was actually pressed done while it was still soft, which physically cannot be the case, but I have no other way to explain it.

Edit - Also, how do I confirm that this is not a reseal or the like. The plastic is fairly tight, but I would rather know before hand.

House fire Nintendo eh? He probably hoped you'd give it to him for $20 just for parts or for free so you wouldn't burn yourself out. I recall systems in the past having power supplies go up in smoke, xbox was known for it for one, but I don't remember ever a Nintendo system being a recall worthy fire starter.
