Thought I'd play on my computer this time because I'm lazy and don't feel like digging out the cart
Never played the NES version before. I used to play it on the Atari 800XL a lot when I was a kid. It's kind of strange that the 800XL version had the pie factory but this one doesn't. Not that I'm complaining or anything...

New score posted.

Wow, Tonya! L6 on one life?! That's amazing! Especially for someone who's only played the Atari version! Great score!

Nice score Tonya!

That's cool that you've played DK on the Atari computer.  I still have my copy of that game.  It's a really fun version!

Do you still have your computer?  I find it fun to set it up once in a while and play all of my childhood favorites (Jumpman, Karateka, and Lode Runner come to mind).

That's what helped my score a bit.... Steve Wiebe's gameplay and figuring out the patterns does help out.

Thanks for the compliments, guys! I know the score will get buried rather quickly, so I'm going to play every day this week and see what I can do.

Wow, that is so cool that you still have yours! I don't remember what happened to mine, unfortunately. Maybe gave it away or junked it. The games I played most on it were DK, DK Jr., Qix, Joust, 3D Tic-Tac-Toe, and Forbidden Forest on the 5.25" floppy.

I looked up the 800XL version of DK on YouTube last night. I forgot that Donkey Kong was on the right side of the screen in the first stage. Remember the trick when removing the rivets? You could just walk over half of the rivet and quickly turn back and take it away.

Cool.  Out of those games, the only one I have is Forbidden Forest.  That was a fun game, but I hate how the programmer left out a couple of levels from the original game (the Commodore 64 version had frogs and a giant snake to go along with the other monsters).

Yeah, it's weird that they left out a floor on the Atari 800 DK barrel stage.  Never knew about the rivet trick.  That sounds like something I need to try!

Suck at this game anyway, but I jut wated to make sure using an emulator on the Wii is ok before I make an attempt. I currently don't have the cart for this for some odd reason.

This is one of the games I don't own, unfortunately. I'll have to emulate it, which I rather loathe.

An emulator on the Wii is ok as long as the version of the game is the same as the NES version.
