Sega has finally announced the release of an official Sega Genesis “classic “,coming Sept 19th ,2019..The playlist of games included with the  mini console looks good so far ,including Castlevania :Bloodlines ..Hopefully if this sells well Sega will also release an 8bit Master System “classic “as well ...

The playlist looks amazing but honestly I just got the Mega SG, and paired with that I'm getting a little burnt out on these things I'm probably gonna skip it. I didn't grow up playing Genesis so it's not so nostalgic for me.

It would be awesome ,but highly doubtful if Sega would include Mega Man :The Wily Wars /Rock Man :Mega World on their mini console ..

It's a little late to the party, but the games mentioned so far are solid. Should at least be better than the latter day Firecore models with half actual Genesis games and half crap games.

I dont plan on buying one, but they should be dime a dozen so i'll just make a thread seeing if anyone will mail me one for free +shipping

Hopefully this will do better than the Playstation Classic.

I preorded the Playstation one on day one and cancelled it about 2 weeks later. Glad I did as it seems to have flopped, being recently available for me to buy brand new from Target for $36 to Ebay brand new for $40. I am trying to hold off buying one till theyre circa $20-25 just for the hell of it.

I feel sorry for the people who paid full up for the playstation classic in hopes they could flip it like the NES/SNES classics.

Looks like a solid lineup so far. With them only including 3button controllers, no fighting games I am guessing. With the inclusion of Bloodlines and Comic Zone, count me in. I was a sega kid, had the Genesis before the SNES came out.

Waiting for sales. Even if they never go on sale, I imagine it will be zero issue to find one at MSRP. Sega has devalued their games so much over time with various compilations and re-releases at super budget prices ($1 each on Steam, free on phones, you can get Sonic's Ultimate Genesis collection with more games than this has for $10). I don't see a Nintendo-style rush for this at $80, but I could be wrong.

The lineup looks good, but I'm gonna go with the Mega SG instead.

Kicking ATgames to the curb in favor of M2 should be the headline here. With 40 games and stuff like Bloodlines, this should be pretty clutch for genny fans.

Sega don't get blind faith nor benefit of the doubt when it comes to mini systems, their horrendous track record with atgames has earned them zero trust. A healthy scepticism, certainly until we see actual playtested hardware in the hands of gamers, is probably the best policy.

Having said that, IF they do get it right this time, and if the system can play the majority of the library of real carts (especially if it is region free), and if the quality is good then I will probably get this. I hope you will forgive me for not holding my breath, however.

Nevertheless, if you're happy to board the hype-train, then by all means full speed ahead!

As someone who got burned by the PS Classic (although I will be modding mine eventually), I'm going to hold off and possibly grab one of the casually after launch. I don't see these being limited in any capacity and hell if they price drop that would be great (hurts seeing the PS classic plummet in price so fast - they should reimburse day 1 buyers some loot).
