Beatrice,

In your photos, I see what appears to be an NES crammed into an Atari 7800 ProSystem case. I was musing last week about building that kind of modified system myself, and I wanted to ask:

Did you do this mod yourself and
Can you post some close-up photos and/or internal photos of this unit?

Thanks!

I agree with both of these things!

Ugh, do we really have to do King Hippo? Really good times for him hinge on luck.

I assume the clockstop glitch is not allowed?

That's actually a Brazilian NES clone from the late 80's, called Phantom System.
The NES under it only accepts running Ghosts 'n Goblins and Rolling Thunder without reseting at random.

Also, I'm sure that the clock stop glitch is not allowed, and even if it is, it would only work with Joe, Don and Super Macho Man, and it would be useful only against Don.

Question: do we care about the milliseconds? I know the game only "counts" milliseconds as 00, 25, 48, 61, 82, 97 or 99. It's not random, it's an actual timer, but should we consider 25 as 1/7th of a second, or just add them up like normal or what? I'll take a picture of the "GREAT FIGHTING" screen as well as the boxer (T)KO'd just in case, but like.

Punchout milliseconds are zany.

Also, this man speaks the truth. Good times on Hippo depends on sher luck.

I kind of suck at stringing together a lot of gutters, so I don't think I'll bother trying to get Honda 2 under 1 minute unless I have to. Managed to nail goldilocks, doubt I'll work on Don more but there is room for improvement believe it or not.

I'll work on Macho Man more. Like I said, a lot of gutters kill me, so hopefully I can put something solid together that focuses on 1+1s or 2+1s. Got the 2+1s down, but I'm having some trouble figuring out when to use the stars, and how to maximize their damage!

As for King Hippo I'll do more with him MAYBE. Please don't make me fight him.

Those are very good times.
You're faster than the times I got at Joe by 0:00:25, Don by 0:02:64.
We're on par at Honda. Getting him down before 1 minute is HARD. >.<

haha, Well, going for the TKO and improving Honda by maybe 4 seconds max hardly seems worth the effort. We have all week though, so maybe I'll work on it depending on how I do with macho man

^Which took longer, drawing that pic of the glove or actually playing out all those rounds? . Good times Phil, this'll be fun to give a run.

I'll try, though. You seem to be a quite good opponent, so any seconds down the road will help.
I wish I could just digitally stick my name to the pictures I took yesterday and be done with it for now.

Well, my first 'good' time for Macho Man is in. 1:40. I'm getting pretty sick of this shit already so that's all for today. I might do something productive in stead!

Interesting. Can we get some clean, close-up photos of it? Additioally, I sent you a PM on the subject.

I'll take some of it and it's innards after I'm done with the this MTPO thing here.
And I see no message from you in my message box.

We'll play the game, even if it does not count every milliseconds, and add them as stiff milliseconds.

The screenshot of the "GREAT FIGHTING" is the standard one needed in this contest.

Question:
Would that be a valid image? Putting a paper with my name at the monitor where I play and get it legible at the pictures would prove to be too much of a hassle.

Not a hassle at all.
Please, put a piece of paper on one side of the screen with your name on it, or whatever could identifying you. This is not a big requirement by any mean, so please conform your pictures to this method.

Nice time by the way.

Ok. I'll see what I can work out here. And try to keep my kitties away from my room this night.
And thanks. Hopefully I'll improve it tonight.

Tap up and quickly press A or B after releasing the pad. This often causes the opponent to raise it's guard to defend against a jab, leaving his gut open to the attack that will follow.
It often yields stars.
Very effective technique.

Tyson/Dream:

I'll still try to improve on Hippo and Macho, as I managed to be slower today.
And Dream as well, but I'll be realistic. There's no way I'll beat Dream under 4:30.
Edit:
I managed to lower Hippo and Dream, but I believe I reached my limit on Macho. 12 tries and none was lower than 1:26. I suck.

The Dream/Tyson gravedigger punches in the opening 1:30 make me too nervous! I always dodge too early trying to anticipate in stead of relaxing and learning to react. I'm super super rusty but I'll give it a go eventually. For now I'd prefer to focus my energies on Macho man and ugh maybe Hippo ugh ugh ugh ugh.

It looks like you're so close to getting Honda 2 before the 1:00 mark! You're making me nervous over here! I don't wanna do it!

They are easy to dodge, but the 1+1 timing on him is so hard.
And then damaging him during the jabs is even worse...

And actually, I have only managed to beat Honda under the 1:00 once, and it was at the 0:59 mark.
Hippo though... It depends too much on luck. The lowest I ever got was 0:52.
