EDIT:  OK.  So this is weird.  I checked the site on my phone and it said the TWA Vita copy was sold out.  Hoped on my computer about 10 minutes later and wanted to see if I could score anything else to use as trade bait later and it showed the game as in stock and allowed me to purchase.  Weird.  I guess people should keep checking even if it's sold out for a short while?

Anyone think the Shantae games coming out next month the will be good enough or worth it to buy? I've never played any Shantae games on any system before.

I don't know if I'm missing something, but what exactly does Shantae have to do with Limited Run Games?

I decided to stop buying these unless i just really want the game like shadow complex and soldner and some homages to 80s and 90s stuff. Just got to be too many releases and that over inflated shipping charge of 5 for each game is annoying to continue to pay every release.

30 per on every release and 5-6 a month gets to be too much. Never got the oddworld which i wanted thst sold out on vita in literally a minute each batch lol. Then i missed the one 2 weeks sgo because of a family emergency. Didnt have breach and clear. So missing those 3 kills the set idea. So i decided not to get the 2 games today.

It seems every time these get released, I am so busy I completely forget about that. That just shows I should not be collecting these anymore and won't worry about them unless it is for a title that is known. Just don't like how there are so many now. I liked the old one game per release day.

Grabbed a copy of Thomas was alone on PS4, first time I've actually managed to get something from them lol, really wish I could have gotten Shadow complex though.

Considering they still have copies for sale after many hours, I'm guessing they are finding their ceiling on how much they can sell.

 

I got a PS4 copy of Thomas Was Alone. First game from them. It is a cool idea but I couldn't see going for the set. Not sure if the quality is there for all the titles. Sure wish I had gotten Octodad though.

On a side note I really hope to see Guacamelee one day.

LRG is releasing 2 Shantae games this month. (October)

I'm going for the Vita set and still don't have Breach & Clear if anyone is looking to trade! If you want some entertainment, watch their facebook comments when they put out a game.

If it sells quick, everyone complains that there were issues with the site and they didn't get a copy. If there's an instance like this, everyone complains that the games didn't sell out immediately. They'll never be able to find a happy balance on these, because a lower run and selling out quick makes all the resellers and speculators happy and the collectors mad and upset, but keeps everyone fighting for them so they sell out quick. Having a larger run makes the collectors happy, but makes the resellers upset and I'm sure has a good amount of them asking for refunds on their orders like crazy. My guess is that they just keep swinging back and forth between the two to keep interest going, or try and add something like the first 2k orders of each game receive a special bonus, etc.

Interesting. There are also two non-limited Shantae games coming out:

Half-Genie Hero for the PS4, Vita, and Wii

and

Pirate's Curse for the 3DS

 

I got every single Vita release so far.
Yesterday I wasn't very happy about buying 2 games at once.
But at least this way I save on shipping.

On the mini documentary released about LRG, I think it was Josh who said that if the game doesn't sell out in 24 hours they begin to receive emails asking to cancel orders because people start to think that game won't be rare.

Talks are this month will be "slow" compared to previous months, the two Shantae games have yet to have an official release date (we apparently just assume its this month) Nuclear Throne was added to the "coming soon" list, there's talks with Oceanhorn devs of making a run. Think I've mentioned there's a rumor or Salt and Sanctuary being released (which I'm excited for)

Just got an email there are still 15% of thomas was alone left.

Its funny when they advertise "Limits removed" like saying "please scalpers come by these games you wont be able to scalp" lol

Oh yeah, speaking of speculating, I am super happy that I bought two copies of every release up until the 16th release or so with the exception of Saturday morning RPG for PS4.

my extra copy of breach and clear is spoken for, but expect to see the rest up for sale or trade soon in the near future.

Plus Half Genie Hero is coming out on 11/1, but that's a full retail multi-platform release.

The runs are still pretty small but I never saw these holding value. No one will want to collect ps4 full sets the way they do the NES. Even if they did these would probably fall in the unlicensed or not retail released category and people would not count them.

That said ill keep buying the rpg and shmups releases because i want to play them.

^^^People wont collect ps4??  People are already collecting ps2 and ps3 sets dude. What are you talking about? Lol. These might not be gold mine value but theyll always hold value

 

The smarter dirty resellers know which ones to snag and when to pass...   
 

Resellers don't bother me, it's just hilarious seeing people freak out in the comments like it's the end of the world.
 

Limited Run Games are great! I know some people only purchase them for resale, which is understandably annoying to those that actually want to play the game! I think LRG should produce enough copies so that everyone that wants one can get one before all the resellers purchase them. With a release of about 3000 I did not have a problem purchasing a game as long as I was fairly quick -I figure it took about 15-30 minutes for a game with that limitation number to sell out. That said, it's hard to say when a game will sell out, and the real problem has been the soundtracks (I love video game soundtracks   The soundtracks actually have been far more limited than the game, with for example Saturday Morning RPG having a CD soundtrack limitation number of only 375 copies. Anyway, all that said, I just love the indie games they release, and will continue supporting them.

The hole to poke in that is that just about every release is available digitally (and has been for some time before LRG got a hold of it) for those that "just want to play it".

But it is pretty hilarious to watch somebody overbuy them to end up selling for nearly zero profit when nobody bites for weeks on end.

I have most of them. I missed the 1st batches of games but managed to get the rest after that. I was going for a full ps4 set and decided half way through I wanted vita to. So I might go back and buy some of the ones I missed.

If anybody wants a sealed copy of Shadow Complex or Octodad on Ps4 for vita titles like Futuridium, Saturday morning or New and tasty. Pm me
