You need to reset the game until the CiClone chip recognizes the region of your lockout chip.

Oh well, sorry.

Brian is pretty bad about email etiquette. I don't know what else to say about that, though.

Describe the problem you are seeing. Garbled characters, grey screen, etc..

A Top Loader does not use a security chip, so that would means its not a CICLONE issue.
If you had a copynes, you could dump it to see if one of the chips is bad.
Take it over to a friend's house and try on their NES, just to rule out all local hardware and TV issues,

YOu can't dump it with copynes.....it uses a custom mapper.
(wich is not supported to my knowledge, don't hold me to this)

Glider does not indicate it has a warranty (other carts like Chunkout on his site have the 5 year warranty) but I imagine thats a typo or oversight.
I'm pretty sure you can send it back, and if theres a problem, he'll send you a new one. Not sure about shipping re-enbursement.

As for customer service, I think he has a policy (for good or for bad) where he doesnt respond to any questions that are already answered in his FAQ or on your order confirmation. But that usually only pertains to shipping inquiries.

It seems like someone posts a thread like this once a month.  I don't think I would ever buy anything from them, it seems like there is absolutley no customer service at all.  Once he gets your money, your beat!

I've never had a problem with RetroZone either and I have a TON of their releases. It does seem awfully shitty to have a policy which dictates that you completely ignore your customer base, though.

Jared,

I'm another customer thats never had a problem with anything I've bought from Retrozone...

Think of it this way, if he didn't do this, the homebrew NES market would be much smaller and more expensive..

Think Garage Cart for every homebrew we've seen.

A good tip for avoiding triggering spam filters is not to quote large amounts of text in every single email sent. When the exact same thing comes from many sources it can look like spam.

I haven't had any quality or timing problems from Retrozone, either, but I have noticed that Brian has poor email etiquette.

I don't think I've ever had him reply to a PM or email, once a deal was done.

EDIT:  ^^^ well speak of the devil

Since we're on the topic, for anyone interested I just looked and Powerpaks are currently available at retrozone. I know they don't come around that often so I thought I'd throw a notice up here. I, unfortunately, am broke... someday I'll own one.

Speaking of Powerpaks...

Brian, what is the current address for getting the resistor mod to the first-generation Powerpak (and having the bios updated while it's in the shop) ? A LONG while ago, I saw a thread on NESDEV about it, but seemed to recall you saying in that thread, that the address was going to change due to a move. Anyway, current info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

EDIT:  Would it be the address listed above, but "Retrozone Recalls" as the name instead?

Alright, thanks. I'll get that over to you one of these days.

Just out of curiosity, do you know if that fixes the scrambled enemy problem that shows up in Earthbound?

Ive ordered several things from RetroZone now sure they seem to take a long time but they do get here to Canada, 3 weeks for 2300 km trip is a bit slow but its here. My only real disappointment is the fact that they are sent in a card envelope with some bubble wrap both my Glider and Sara Parker boxes were damaged on the corners and sides. I would order a copynes if I knew it wouldnt get broken but the damage the boxes recieved I dont think the copynes would survive that in a card envelope with bubble wrap.

I do want to say thank you for making this stuff available to all, I do appreciate it very much.

If you order multiple items they show up in a box.  I just got 4 or 5 items in the mail earlier this week, all packed in a box.

I am still planning on buying a bunch of copynes units, so I can mod the NES and sell them to my Canadian brethren (should be cheaper than shipping and customs this way).  But then again, I plan lots of stuff, and then I dont get around to doing them,
