I saw this auction on ebay this weekend, and was a little surprised about the ending price.

I've got a NES pirate with the excact same label.
So has my pirate the same value?
Or was this just an insident of many people who wanted the same game at the same time?

Famicom pirates are worth $7
NES pirates are worth $30.

My prices above really dont mean anything since people go nuts sometimes.

I personally feel that auction was an anomaly but since I havent seen that particular label before, who knows.

Usually ebay pulls pirates, so my prices are based on collectors selling to other collectors.  I know myself and a few other collectors who collect pirate games dont like going over $30, but thats a personal threshold and different people have different thresholds.  I've even gone as high as $40, but thats just because I didnt feel like going home empty handed after a day of game hunting.

I sold an 800 in 1 NES pirate cart for $200 a few months back but only got $7 for a Famicom 31 in 1.

That pirate in the auction is pretty nice tho, about 80 unique games on one cart.

I saw alot of pirated gameboy advance games at flea market, Pokemon Purple, Super Advanced World Mario 2, Mario Fight Donkeykong, the labels were so fuzzy and crappy

I think the reason that NES pirates are worth more is because the copyrights on things in North America are held to a high degree, and are prosecuted more often than in any other country. Thus making them rarer then famicom pirates with the weak copyright laws of Japan and such. Making them plentyful over there.
