So while cruising around doing some pawn shop awesomeness, I found a pawn shop that carries old nintendo stuff. Their commons are overpriced, and consoles and accessories are over priced as well, but i managed to buy a smoke grey and grape purple n64 from them today decently.

I got talking to the guy running the shop and at one point he stopped me and said, "I like that you appreciate these old games, dadadadada..... i've got something to show you". I'm thinking maybe bubble bobble part 2 or little sampson or something, but no. Instead he whips out this little piece. It's just the cart, no box, manual, or anything else. Just the cart. These are actual pictures... He told me to do some research and get back with him so maybe we could work out a deal as well as me selling some boxed Snes games for him.. I know nothing about this game

Questions:

1) Does every Action 52 game have the cheetahmen 2 game on it?

2) If so, eBay prices can be helpful, If not, how much more rare is this one?

3) lastly, Could someone please let me know what it's worth?

Or direct me to an NA form that may help, because i couldn't find one..

its not the same as Action 52, even though it uses the same casing and label. its just crappy cheetahmen 2 on that board, not 52 crappy games that include cheetahmen 1.

with that said, its worth more than action 52. and depending on how much you can get it for, im interested in making a deal with you that could make it worth scooping up from him (if you dont plan on keeping it)

That is indeed a real Cheetamen II cart. All Cheetamen II carts were recycled Action 52 carts with a Cheetamen II sticker on the back. These have been selling for upwards of $1200.00 recently so if you can make a deal for less than that, do it!

Those are stupid rare. Every legitimate copy came out of a warehouse find in the late 90s. It was never actually released. That's bananas that it's just hanging out there in a pawn shop.

Id say the cart is an easy 1000. The sticker on the back makes it better since some dont have stickers.

If he pulled out from a "secret stash" he probably knows what it's worth. In that condition it's $1000 at the very least.

Very nice, but since he's holding onto it he probably knows what its worth. He might just think its a regular Action 52 cart or Cheetamen 2. Def try to work out a deal. Tell us how it goes

I believe he has an idea of what he has. He spent quite a bit for it himself, he didn't say exactly how much; just that it was in the hundreds, but he got a good deal of corse. He isn't a collector or a video game dealer really.. Unfortunately, I don't know if he appreciates the game or it's history as much as the value. I'm gonna work slowly on it, do some deals with him, get to feel him out as well as well as give him the opportunity to feel me out. Hopefully after a bit of this and helping him out, he will let if go to me for a decent price, knowing it is going to a place where it is appreciated.

He already wants to start doing business with me. He has about 20 boxed Snes games and a couple boxed n64 games he wants me to get an estimate value on. He wants to sell them to me and let me put them where they belong.. aka.. sell them to someone who will appreciate them.. Allowing me to make a bit of a profit along the way (i'm guessing to help finance Cheetahman 2, or thats the way he made it sound anyways). So maybe he does actually appreciate the games and wants them to go to a place where they will be cherished..

Idk, maybe i'm just crazy, but i need to find some game values ( I should have taken a picture, but i know there's Final Fantasy 1, 2, and 3 for the Snes in real good condition 8-8.5/10, and Smash Bros and Mario Kart for the n64 in less good condition 4-5/10.. Too bad I don't really deal with Snes games haha

Well i assume tou mean final fantasy 1 for nes and 2,3 for snes

, When i worked at a gamestore there was one customer That swore on his life final fantasy 1 was on super nintendo in america. I didnt want to argue with a customer but he was kind of a know it all jerk. When i showed him final fantasy 1 on nes he tried to back track and tell me it was for both then he finally i think figured it out and i never saw him in the store again. He was a regular customer so i assumed he was really embarrased since he made a scene trying to convince me

Give him 10 reasons its fake and take it home for cheap!

Just kidding, but thats awesome dude. If you can score it for anything under $1,000 with out breaking your bank you're golden. I wish our pawn shops had this stuff. I get excited when they have Mario 3 or Ninja Turtles, give me hope.

Ain't that a repro from that kickstarter? I remember that the guy running it made the seal misspeled, "Cheetamen II" instead of "Cheetahmen II". EDIT:

"ALSO JUST ARRIVED ARE THE "CHEETAMEN II" ( CHECK OUT THE MISPELLED GOLD STICKERS THAT WERE PLACED ON THE BACK OF THE ACTION 52 CART SHELL TO BE ABLE TO DISTINGUISH IT FROM THE ACTION 52 GAMES AS THEY OTHERWISE WERE VIRTUALLY INDISTINGUISHABLE.  TO KEEP ORIGINALS DISTINCT THEY ARE EVER SO SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT."

Funny enough, the actual Cheetahmen II cart has the same misspeling in the gold sticker. Sorry

That typo just adds to it's infamy, they couldn't even spell the fucking title right on the cart. And yes, that cart is as legit as it gets, those Action 52/Cheetahmen II carts are basically impossible to fake.

Etler was in New Jersey and sold many many copies to sellers here in Cleveland Ohio.
These were not not thousand dollar games at that time. They were cheap cheap cheap. I recall giving a few away in deals etc. Mike Gedeon of Videogame Connections sold these at flee markets.

So one ending up at a flee market in Indiana is believable.

Chances are he thinks it is an Action 52 cart. Which stil has value but not nearly as much.

Oh, he knows.... I don't think he knows the running value, and I didn't really have an idea till this thread, but he definitely knows it's the Cheetamen II cart, not the standard Action 52.

Love going to Video Game Connection!  Mike has a couple vids on Youtube where he talks about some of the rarer things hes had and he tells the story about the stack of sealed cases of these he had.  He shows one that he had on the shelf @ $49, then crossed off to $39, then $29, then $19.  I think in the end he said he was basically trying to give them away @ $9.95.  Oh how the tables turned on that one.
