Good work yourself! You crushed my score. I am pretty happy I held the cpu to under 20 points though. I'm guessing you and bert took (and usually made) 3 pointers the entire game? I figured dunking was faster. I was averaging 40 points a quarter and didn't think there was much room for improvement but apparently I was mistaken. Was trying to find a Double Dribble record for 5 minute quarter games, but all I saw were ten minute quarter games.

Yeah, most attempts I never shot a 2 unless it was on accident. I was unaware that people held back scores and posted them at the last second. I guess I'm a bit of a noob at these contests I don't think I'm good enough gamer to win these things, but it's fun to participate

Well, if it were limited to 2's, I think you would win (at least beat me). I pretty much only shoot 3s in that game. Lots of passing to move the ball faster, which equals more shot attempts.

Some people post last second, some people post early and often. I usually do the latter, but I was going to try to wait until the last second to post what I thought could have been a first place score. But since it was surpassed I just posted it anyway. Highly doubt I can top yours or bert's score unless I either maintain my 160 and shut out the computer or play in a completely different style (shoot all threes) which I haven't even tried.

And now it's time for a post-game report from the Bimmys vs. Abobos game from star basketball player Bimmy Abdul-Jabbar:

Man you guys, that was such a SWEET game! We smoked those Abobos and showed them who the TRUE basketball masters are! The after party in our locker room was even SWEETER than the victory itself! We had little cocktail weenies, loads of peel and eat shrimp, pizza rolls, cheese and crackers, Oreo cookies, and all the chocolate milk we could drink. It was the best party EVER...until the Abobos crashed it. Before we knew what was happening, those Abobos had each of us in their clutches and did horrible, unspeakable things to us. Where do I even begin? Well, poor Jimmy was dragged into the bathroom and given swirly after swirly. He got so many of them that his hair was standing straight up in the air in a point. It was crazy. Those Abobos even took his expensive "Air Bimmy's," tied the laces together, and threw them up on a telephone wire where he couldn't get them. Like, really guys! Oh, and Ranzou got the biggest super atomic wedgie I've ever seen. His underwear was pulled up over his nose...oh, and they gave him a bunch of sloppy Wet Willys! How gross! Man, who still gives out Wet Willys? Oh, and get this. They pinned poor Chin to the floor and gave him a Pink Belly that seemed to last forever. It was weird. And that wasn't the worst of it! One of the Abobos squatted down and farted in his face over and over again while they were holding him down. Just when I thought I would escape the locker room unscathed, I bumped right into their injured star player, Burnov. Yeah...Burnov! Before I could move an inch, he grabbed me by the back of my shirt and...well...this was the outcome:

And that wasn't all! He tied a jock strap to my face! GAHHHHHH!!! It smelled so bad. When all was said and done, we discovered that they ate all of our snacks, drank all of the chocolate milk, and clogged up the toilet AGAIN! They also left this stupid note behind:

"Dear Bimmy,

This is what you get for beating us at basketball. Those snacks were pretty good, hahahaha!!!! We left a little surprise in your locker room toilet, too! Well, I don't think it should be considered "little" hahahahaha!!! We'll see you little sissies around. Our revenge is complete!

The Abobos (and Burnov)

P.S. We also peed in the water fountain in your locker room and drank all your Gatorade, hahahahaha!!!"

Man, can you believe these guys! Why do they have to keep picking on us? Don't they have anything better to do? Man, I was really looking forward to pizza rolls! Well, I guess I better help Jimmy get his shoes down off the telephone wire. I guess I'll be seeing you guys around. Man, I can't wait to get my revenge on those Abobos. One of these days us Double Dragons will get...The Revenge! Hey, that's actually pretty catchy. That sounds like a good title for a sequel.

I was sick in bed all yesterday, but I was able to get up today. I really wanted to hit 200 points, but my thumb just can't take it anymore.

Well your score is safe from me. I've been at the veterinary hospital for a good portion of the weekend plus my dog is going to have surgery tomorrow to remove a bunch of bladder stones and I have to take her up there at 7am.

I updated my score. I wish I had more time to play, but I just spread myself too thin with normal weekly activities. I'd like to be more of a competitor here... but you guys are crushing it! lol. Maybe next year!

It was a comedy of errors just to get this score. All week I had the emulator at full screen and I didn't notice my name was obscuring the opponent's score and then I had another just before this one, but I didn't press pause in time. I still got a score better than anything else I got all week, even if it's just for a participation point. I'm just glad I finished before the deadline. Whew.

Damn Geester, nice D!

Once you see how it's done, it kinda takes the fun out of the game.  It's very possible to get upwards of 250 points in a game, and then just getting the defense perfected.  My best game, I had 116-8 at half.  It all went to hell in the fourth quarter when my left thumb gave out, and I couldn't control my 3-pointers.  I'll throw up a video on Wednesday.

Just trying to figure out how it's possible to get 250 points in a game with 5 minute quarters. 62.5 per quarter is ridiculous. Would you just be stealing it constantly then chucking it up from half court? I didn't take any threes because I figured it ate up more of the clock.

You'll understand after you see the video. Stealing the ball before they get it across half court makes all the difference.

I was doing that for the most part,I'm just wondering about the offense aspect of it as it seemed like shooting threes ate up more clock.
