So, I’ve been hunting for this guy for a while.  They simply do not pop up.  There’s close to no information on this release on the internets.  In all of my PlayStation hunting adventures this has been by far the hardest to find.  Super pumped.  It’s in good condition too.

Vaguely. It was my intent for awhile but I couldnt outrun the rise in prices so I’ve got a bunch but also a long way to go.  I continue to pick up odds and ends as my fancy strikes me.

This was one of the console's greatest hits? Sometimes I question that.

So how did you find out about this GH copy? Is there complete list form SONY or something?

Speaking of these games, it was my understanding that if a game sold one million units, it became a "Greatest Hits" and was discounted to $20, if I recall correctly. I guess that the few that are super-rare are the ones probably got one print run because they made GS status (think about it as a badge of honor for the publishers) but once these games were shipped, many were unsold/trashed/returned to the distributor.

I spent a lot of time on PlaystationAge  . Also it’s listed right here on NA.
Its not listed on the Wikipedia entry or anything.  I think the only other place I’ve seen it listed as a release is game-rave.

This is one of those odd games where the GH version was actually different from the original version due to a character that had been altered because it was "offensive" in the original version.

Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I'll have to check the local shops; guarantee they'd be sleeping on this one.

GVN has it listed, though no sales data: https://gamevaluenow.com/playstation-1-ps1/toy-story-2-buzz-...

When in doubt about PS1, go to Game-Rave.com

http://game-rave.com/?p=3533

Includes other interesting information.

humanity needs more batmen looking out for offensive characters.
did someone point out the replacement character is offensive to white blonde guys who wear white hats? i happend to be white, blonde and i always wear white hats, even when i sleep

(thanks for the info btw, i do wonder if the GH version was released in purpose to show that "we have fixed the offensive character, now go f*** yourselves", which could explain why so few copies seem to have been printed)

it's not uncommon for reprints to be harder to find, on ps1 and ps2, ps3 haven't paid much attention. certainly as a general rule they are printed in smaller quantities, if not a single batch like someone mentioned here

i loved toy story 2 on the n64 -- is the ps1 version the same (apart from adjusted graphics)?

I have this game because an ex-girlfriend loved that movie, and I literally just bought the N64 cart on Wednesday because I saw it in the store, remembered the PS1 game, thought my son would like it but didn't feel like going through my PS1 stuff to find it... I guess I have to find it now.

Realistically I'll never run into this, living in Canada. And we have some interesting variants here, but nobody will ever give a shit.
