Hey guys,

I was seeing which manuals we still needed scanned for the NTSC region, and noticed that World Class Track Meet wasn't there. Then I noticed I don't have a manual for that game. And then I noticed there wasn't one for sale on ebay. Am I correct in assuming the actual manual for this game is the one that came with the Power Pad, as seen on page 4, here:

http://www.nintendoage.com/ind...ssory&Accessory_ID=59

Or here's page 4:

http://www.nintendoage.com/ind...ccessory_ID=59&Page=4

I can't believe I'm clueless about this. For some stupid reason I just figured I never got around to buying this manual.

the only one I know of is the one with the power pad

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

well the game was only sold with the power pad and bundled with mario/dh. so it would make since that the only manuals were with the power pad manual and mario/dh manual

LOL, if your logic were true, then that means that Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt instructions would be found in the Action Set manual, and the Superspike V'Ball / Nintendo World Cup would be found in the Sports Set manual, right? So that's actually why it doesn't make sense, IMO, since SMB/DH had a manual, and so did Spike/Cup.

I have always had a copy of the Power Pad/World Class Track meet instructions with that cart. I had looked forever to find individual instructions but never could find any so I would say in this case and only this case those are the only instructions to be had.

Good enough, guys -- thanks. I'll update it later on tonight to reflect that the Power Pad manual is the actual WCTM manual.

So does this mean that you need a complete Power Pad to technically own a CIB copy of World Class Track Meet?

Simple way to get through all the confusion:

That manual linked to in the first post goes with the stand-alone WCTM cart that ONLY came in the stand-alone power pad retail box. The only other version of WCTM is on the triple-header cart and so its instructions are in the SMB/DH/WCTM manual which came with the power set (where the power pad itself is in a white box instead of a retail one).

So bottom line... yes that little power pad manual is the manual for the stand-alone WCTM, as far as I'm concerned.
Phew, that was probably redundant.

PS: Dain, I don't see the "Classic Series" box variant for Punch-Out scanned into the DB ...or am I just blind?

-------------------------

My mantra, as worded by SamSpade on 06/12/12:
I don't resell to fund my collection, I don't treat this hobby like a second job, I don't care if my collection is worth ten bucks or ten thousand because I never plan on selling it. Seriously, what does the value have to do with anything if you never plan on selling? Speculation doesn't mean jack shit to me at this point, I just want to play my nes games...

Cool, thanks Dr. Morbis -- I scanned up my sealed copy and posted it. It was in queue for me to scans since I was filling in the -1 box variations. Here's a link to -1 box variations if anyone sees any I'm missing other than ones made by Nintendo (I have a few more to add):

http://www.nintendoage.com/ind...sults&Variation_ID=41

Also, I made a note similar to your note on the WCTM page about the manual, explaining it all.
