I picked up two "not for resale" copies of Sonic 2 for Sega genesis yesterday at the flea market.

There are two different ones. I got one that is CIB, and I found copies of it on eBay, seems to be fairly common. Can anybody tell me what the story behind this cart is?

The other copy has a totally different "not for resale" label on it that I didn't see come up anywhere. Can anybody tell me what this is worth and the story behind it?

If anybody can shed some light on these, I'd really appreciate it. 0

Anything with Not for Resale for Sega especially for the Genesis is usually more common than the normal version because whenever Sega sells the console back during the Genesis eras, they would put the actual game for the system kind of like Mario/ Duck Hunt or SMB3 for the original NES. Well, Sonic 2 and Streets of Rage 2 whenever the model 2 came out, the game would be included for the system like Altered Beast when the Genesis first made sales. So, both versions are different as far as labels, but I think they're about the same price wise. So, cart only is like $2 to $3 while CIB is like $5 at the most.

Both of them are super common and to my knowledge they are just different printings. Both of them are worth a buck.
