Hey everyone, I posted this on Playstation Age but figured I'd post here too. I bought the Metal Gear Solid  Peace Walker edition psp (3001) today. It was used but CIB, however the battery it came with doesn't fit. I did some quick research online and found some conflicting answers. I just need to know what battery will work for this model! Thanks!

I'm fairly certain the 3001 takes the same battery as the 2000. All PSP batteries are the same except for the original phat PSP, where the battery is also thicker.

Examine it carefully. PSP batteries may bulge when they fail!

A 1000 battery can be used to give 2000 or 3000 slightly more capacity, they make wide replacement battery doors for that.
Sony's "Extended Life Battery Kit" is also the larger size.

This is a signature-tcha!

2000 fits in a 3000, I switch mine back and forth depending on if when I have to use CFW or not. 3.6v 1200 mAh. And yes, they do bulge when bad.
